Moving forward, with changes imminent…

I’ll try to keep this short, and without details, as this is a personal blog, and not one that I like to focus on my professional life in any great detail.

It’s looking very much like I’ll be re-thinking my career in short order.  I truly love my current position as manager of marketing and web application development with the company that I’ve spent several years working with, but due to an unfortunate chain of events beyond my control, I may be laid off by week’s end.

It’s all so horribly frustrating.

I know that change is good, and inevitable.  I’m looking forward to a less-stressful time, and a renewed sense of where my professional future will take me.  I’m actually dealing with it all better than I thought…

Being the forever-optimist that I am, I’m still holding on to a glimmer of hope that somehow our small, tight-knit team will pull off a miracle before Friday.  In the meantime, I’m going to try very hard to keep it all in perspective.

Nice talking to you last night chica! You are a smart, savvy, resourceful and talented lady – everyone is dying for decent employees right now – you are going to have a myriad of opportunities clamouring to your door in no time.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. I hope that it will all work out ok for you. It sounds like you’ve been under an incredible amount of stress recently!

What Lara said! Change is scary, but it can also be such a good thing. You are smart and super resourceful – you will NOT have a problem finding something that is a perfect match for you and your talents.

    Keep your chin up!

Good luck, Tan. I’ve worked for 5 different dot coms and they all went belly up so I know the dangers and frustrations of working in the web apps field. Despite the problems though, those were my favorite jobs. I hope y’all can hang in there!

Oh honey! I’m sending as much positive energy your way as I can. Like Lara said, this city is just full of opps for people who are as hardworking and dependable as you.

    Hugs!

Oh man, I’d be terrified just waiting for the ball to drop. Laid off?? You poor girl! But I absolutely believe that there’s a reason for this change. I hope it becomes clear what that reason is soon!

Good vibes being sent your direction…

    Laid off?!?!?

Been there, done that, didn’t enjoy it. Very sad to hear about the downturn at work.

Having said that, change is often positive. You’ll do just fine.
