Ice removal? It’s a foreign concept, apparently…

Last night, Michael and I headed out to the border to renew his work permit, which expires fairly quickly.  I wanted to get out to boonies before the next snowfall hit, which has been forcast for mid-day today.  Pulling out of the garage yesterday morning for work was a bit scary, so I thought I [...]

Brrr…!!!

Welcome to Snow Day 2006 in Vancouver!
Here’s the view from my office at home:

This is me, working from home to avoid the skating rink that would be my short commute into the office.  It’s been snowing for two days straight, and really quite cold out.  I wish I had a fireplace!

Where did a year go?

Tomorrow marks one YEAR for Michael and I.  It’s been a crazy, crazy year, and one he’s been up front and centre for during the whole time.  I love him with all my heart, and am so, so happy we’ve made it to the first year mark with very few scratches along the way…
We’re off [...]

Hey, I’m back!

I didn’t touch a computer for 8 days!  Aren’t you all proud of me?
But, I didn’t go to the gym on the ship, either.  I tried, though:  I wanted to hire a trainer on the ship, but RCCL was terribly disorganized and didn’t even know how much the rates were for an hour of training [...]

Well, I got two hours sleep, I guess that’s something!

This is simply not a time any human should be awake and functioning.
Well, actually, scratch the functioning part.
Damn, I think I shrunk my new jeans.  I could barely do them up this morning, and now I have to sit on a plane with them digging into my gut. But, on the positive side, this is [...]

Five short hours…

God.  I have to be awake in less than five hours!
And, I’m still *not* completely packed.  Nor do I have a pair of sandals, or shorts that fit me properly.  Yikes…
It’s been a crazy few weeks trying to get all the work done before I leave, and consequently, the personal stuff got left behind.
That’s just [...]

Hi, I’m Tanya…

I’ll be your unbalanced person for today.  At least I’m on the high end of the seesaw this morning!  I got into work early, enjoyed the crisp air while the sun brightened the morning horizon going into the office.  Yep, that’s right, the sun is shining!
I’m so thankful for a reprieve from the lousy weather!  I [...]

Sixty-one and a half hours to go…

Not that I’m counting, or anything!
This weather is really getting to me.  All this torrential, record-setting rain over the past week has put a damper on my mood, and I’m finding that all I want to do is curl up in a little ball with a nice warm blankey and dream that I’m on a beach [...]

Cruising!

Has anyone been on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines?  I’ve been on six previous cruises, but on Princess and Carnival… And, I’m just wondering if there’s any hints out there for RCCL?  Are there particular activities we should definitely do, or excursions we shouldn’t miss during our vacation?  We’ll be hitting Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Cayman, [...]

He’s so inspiring!

Michael and I had a “date night” on Wednesday night — Can you call it a “date night” still, if you have been living together for months?  It was a really awesome evening of entertainment by the one-and-only David Sedaris.  Michael has often read his short stories to me, and unlike other novels we [...]

OMG, it’s NOVEMBER!

Dammit, every time I go to write a post, something comes up.  Mostly work.  But, I’m still loving my job!  Seriously!
Which is where I am right now, taking a very quick break to make an appearance here…
The Haunted Vancouver Trolly Adventure last week was a ton of fun — Who knew Vancouver was soo scary?!  [...]
