Back to: Two Fer Tuesday!

It’s back!

What are your two favourite things about the holiday season?

Me first:

  1. – I absolutely love Christmas morning… Those that have spent it with me in the past will attest to the fact that I literally jump up and down on the bed very early that morning, squealing with glee.  It’s not about the presents for me but about the exhileration of the moment.  It’s one of the moments I can recall as a child that I can hold on to as always incredible.
  2. – The time I get to spend with my friends and family enjoying the season of joy and togetherness.  I absolutely love Christmas parties, and Christmas dinner shared with the people I love.  How could I ask for anything better than that?

Your turn!

I think a roaring fire and steaming coffee on Christmas morning is one of the best things going. Plus the Christmas orange in the toe of my stocking.

    1. Stat holidays that allow me to sleep in.

    2. Christmas cards and phone calls from long lost friends.

    1. The memories I had of xmas morning at my Nana’s and opening my pillowcase of goodies… sadly she died when I was 10, they were short lived mornings.

    2. I think my next favourite thing is going to be this coming xmas morning, when I awake to a whole new memory of my son Quentins first xmas… he is 3 months old today, I can hardly wait!

I absolutely love wrapping presents. I know that sounds weird, but I’m good at it and I love to see the pile grow.

The second is also odd–since I can’t pick a single thing about the celebration at home, I’ll have to say that I love the appreciation of patients when it is my turn to work Christmas. I wish I never had to work holidays, but when I do, there is a specialness to the day can’t really describe.

Christmas Morning. With a 5 year old in the house, it’s gotten even more fun lately. :)

Two things? I’m stumped. Oh, I have one. I love Ann Page chocolate covered cherries and they’re a lot easier to find this time of year.

    1. Christmas lights on everything – it looks so pretty & magical!

    2. Giving & receiving Christmas cards. It’s the only time of the year I like checking mail.

    3. The fact that everyone uses the entire month of December as an excuse to do way less work and have way more fun. Can I have 3? I guess you can’t stop me…unless you decide to delete this post.

I HATE Christmas… I am more of an Easter kinda person… but if you like it T… then jump away Christmas morning!!!

  • NetChick says:

    :) Great ones, you guys.

Rick: Sorry you hate Christmas! Ack! Why? Stepping away from the commercialism of it all, it’s just such a fun time of year for all the get-togethers!

Brain-Girl: (welcome back, chickie!) Of course you can have 3. I’d give ya 5 if you asked nicely. ps: Did you take your vitamins today?

    My fave xmas memory:

This is way back in the day,

when we lived in a subdivision in Kamloops…..my sister and I were watching the “Snow Queen” on tv and there was a knock on the door…and lo’ and behold SANTA has just driven up our drive way in a skidoo! and gave us “pixie stix” (you can only get them in specialty candy stores like the “candy aisle” now). Some nice person in our neighbourhood had decided to give the kids a thrill and do this fun deed.

I like waking up and being surrounded by family and friends on Xmas day. Followed by Rum+eggnogs and little breakfast sausages.

Growing up my Gramma used to give me two ornaments before Xmas and I still have them all…I love decorating the tree with them…she was the best!

  • NetChick says:

Wow, Patricia! You lived in a *super duper* cool neighbourhood. That would have been right up there for me, had I lived in a place like that! Neat! (Did I just use the word, “neat”?)

Lovewine: I miss all my family ornaments. They went with a long-lost ex. Oh well, I’ll have to make new ones.
