Dell 30 inch 3007WFP UltraSharp Widescreen Flat Panel MonitorWooo!!! I’m *so* excited, can you tell?

I was doing my regular check at Dell.ca today to see if I could spy a deal on my (soon-to-be) coveted Dell 30″ 3007WFP UltraSharp Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor, and low and behold, my research paid off today!

Check this:

Congratulations! You have qualified for $500.00 savings with your online purchase!

Um, ya. I’ll take $500 off!!!! SOLD!!!

So, now I have to get my ass in gear, and build my new tower with PVR. I’m going to get my hands dirty, and actually build the machine myself. It’s been years since I’ve done that, and I feel like my knowledge is practically in the dark ages — And I call myself a closet geek?

If anyone has any suggestions on which way I should go with dual core or dual cpu, and a high-end graphics card with dual link DVI (required for the high resolution output of the monitor), not to mention the best tv tuner options, I’d be very pleased to take your opinions and guidance!

Yea, I think it is really damn sexy, too! My friend Reilly has one, and I fight the urge every time I’m over there not to lick it.

You going the Linux way or the Microsoft way?

  • NetChick says:

Thanks for the link, P! I’m going MS all the way. I can’t be bothered to deal with linux.

T… this may have started as a “closet geek” thing, but you are now stepping out into the bright sunshine so all can see you are a major geek!!! I mean I always thought I was a geek (spending 25+ years in the “high tech” industry as an engineer)… but girl, I didn’t understand one frickin word you said there other than the monitor is 30″ wide.

    You are a mess!!! :-D

UMMMMMM ya no… but I could offer some assistance in the perfect martini paired with a great appie….

  • NetChick says:

    Rick: Ha! :) LOL!

D: I’ll take you up on that!! Mmmm Martinis…

  • Thomasso says:

Nice! Good price too. They seem to have some good deals on systems…. hummmmmmm I might look into it myself? Thanks T!

Q: Why not buy a whole Dell package and not get all dirty…. :) Then when its breaks, they can fix it.

  • Rick says:

    ummm…

I am goin with the obvious answer to Thomasso’s question there…. heh!

  • NetChick says:

Tom: It’s a really, really sweet monitor. Mmmmm Monitor. LOL :) And, I like building systems, and this way I get what I want. I hate the fact that Dell forces stuff on you! And, their pre-configured systems often have things that I don’t want or want to change out and can’t. Back to building my own! I love doing that anyhow.

    Rick: Heheheh!

  • Hmm.. I wouldn’t know what to do with a 30″ UltraSharp Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor … // oh wait .. YES I WOULD! I’d get a better chair for my office desk .. like a recliner :P
