The Mid-Week Socializing Game!
Hey guys! It’s that time of the week, again… Time to socialize on the fly! (And, I’ll have one of those shots in the photo, please!)
Here’s how it works: I’ll start with a question, and the first person answers my question, and then asks a different question for the next person in the same comment.
I’ll start!
At what age are you hoping to retire?
You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0 feed. Both comments and pings are currently closed.

retire? Now would be good….Actually I always have projects on the run so I’ll probably keep going until my brain goes kaput.
Question: Who is your fave Clark Kent – Chris Reeves or Tom Welling?
A: Tom Welling — Chris Reeves was too plastic looking in the suit.
(ps: I hear you on the retirement bit — I don’t think I’ll ever just sit back and not work at least part time)
Q: Do you like to meet new people/friends? If so, where do you usually meet them?
I enjoy meeting new people. I usually meet them when I am traveling. Like when I am alone I will go to a restaurant for dinner and sit at the bar. There’s always another traveler there looking for someone to talk to.
Q: If you could have dinner with ANYONE in the world, one on one, who would it be and why?
A: The Dalai Lama, both for the enlightenment, and to try to understand some of the dichotomies in the political situation of the area.
Q: When something goes wrong in your life do you see it as a challenge or an opportunity?
A: Both, actually. It is a challenge at first, (but a challenge that I’m usually focused on overcoming) and then an opportunity to have/do something better.
Q: What’s your favourite song right now?
“The Things You Say Dirty” – Cicada
Would you have children if you knew the planet was only going to be able to sustain a large human population for only another 50 years?
My grandchildren will move to Mars.
Q.If you could cast any actor to play you in a movie about your life, who would it be?
Janine Garofolo – before she came out as an alcoholic.
What word gives you the heebie jeebies every time you hear it?
A: Reamed (or is that reemed?) GROSS!!!
Q: Do you enjoy the ‘Mid-Week Socializing Game’?
Yes, I do. It could become a regular stop.
When was the last time you stopped everything to admire a sunset?
A) what’s the mid-week socializing game?
q) what do you think of this question/answer game tanya keeps posting?
D’oh!
a) The last time I was unemployed. Which would have been… um… yesterday.
q) When was the last time you admired the sunrise?
a: This morning. You can actually see sunrises and sunsets in the plains of Texas… unlike in Seattle from whence I came, where the mountains get in the way.
q: What foreign country would you most like to visit?
New Zealand. I have a fascination to visit a country like Canada without any scary beasts in the woods.
What is the last thing that made you laugh?
The absurdity of a former employer, who recently wanted to contract me to do some work and then 14 minutes later emailed me to say they’ve changed their minds.
What’s the silliest thing you’ve seen an employer or client say/do?
God, I’ve seen too many silly things to count… but one that’s up there is the boss who kept telling me that I should watch my diet and exercise more at a point in time when I was rapidly losing weight!
Paper or plastic? and why?
Plastic. I have two pet rats, and re-use plastic bags to hold poo. Paper is not so good at holding poo.
Coke or Pepsi?
Diet Pepsi! (I don’t like how sweet either of the regular versions are… And at least Diet Pepsi doesn’t have that terrible aftertaste)
Q: Did you wake up in a good mood today?
Neither – pop is gross.
What are you having for dinner tonight?
A: Probably fruit… Or, a sandwich. I’ve been avoiding full dinners lately in favour of a decent sized lunch. (With exception of weekends)
Q: Did you wake up in a good mood today?
A. I woke up feeling a bit down. Maybe it has to do with this cold I’m fighting that has been making it hard to get a good night’s sleep.
Q. You’re on vacation, where are you and what are you doing?
Hi Cathy!
A: Well, there’s an upcoming family cruise to Hawaii from Vancouver I’m looking forward to in Sept. — So, I will be very much relaxing, and enjoying the ship!! (And the islands, when we arrive!)
Q: Describe a great first date?
Loads of laughter and a light snack followed by something cutesy and romantic (like a sunset or something). Throw a movie into the mix and it’s perfect!
Q: How do you handle your “social internet time” (blogging, twitter etc)and balance it against work time and the rest of life?
