All-in-all, a great weekend!

The Friday night adventure consisted of going to Richmond to pick up my new Canon Rebel XTi (OMG, that is a beautiful camera — I can’t wait to go out on a photowalk!) with Miranda and Reilly, and then head off to the Black Frog for a couple of drinks and dinner… I got home early that night, and ended up having a quiet evening on my own for a change. It actually was a perfect night, which included pouring through my camera manual, and watching Battlestar Gallactica. Talk about geeking out!

Saturday morning and afternoon I worked on a project that has a looming deadline quickly approaching, and then Zoe came over to work on the wine site project for a while before we headed out to Verns to warm up for the ‘rave’ we were heading to later in the evening… After eating some yummy baked brie, and having a few drinks there, we headed off to be one of the first groups to the small rave venue. And, wouldn’t you know it — The moment it started, the VPD shut it down. (Argh!!) So, rather than call it a night, Vern, Eunice, Zoe and I jumped into a cab and headed to Lotus to enjoy similar music and dance the night away.

It was a good night… But, for some reason, I was tired by 2 (I have been working pretty hard lately, and still getting over that bronchial infection) and us girls left Vern to head home. It was a great workout actually, as I had danced for hours that night.

My Dad called just as Zoe and I were getting up the next morning, at what I thought was 9:15, but was actually 10:15 (I love daylight savings, don’t you? Please give me back that much-needed hour!) and then I read in bed for a bit before getting back to work. Unfortunately, the project took far longer than I expected to get to the next plateau, and I never got out to do anything I’d wanted to yesterday. Oh well. There’ll be other Sundays.

And, that was my weekend — Busy, productive, and fun for the most part. Good times!

Now I’m just trying to wake up, after being up since 7 (which is actually still 6am in my books.) Do you like daylight savings time?

I think it’s a silly waste of time and should be scrapped. if the politicians can’t agree on the best way to leave the time(at -7 or -8 hours) then split the difference and we can all be in line with Newfoundland(remember those CBC spots? the “symphony with anvils at 9, or 9:30 in Newfoundland”)

YIPPIE daylight savings time means that spring/summer is just around the corner bring on the hot summer…I can hardly wait. hopefully we will have a summer like last in the mid 30′s bring it on!!!!

I will have to totally agree with the Sister up there… Spring time is the best… followed by a close runner up of Summer!!! The only real problem with daylight savings is losing the one hour of beauty sleep though. Not that one more hour of sleep will make me any more beautiful than I already am….

I am glad that you are almost recovered from being sick T!! And thanks again!! ;-)

Daylight Savings Time totally screws me up every year–springing forward and falling back. I’d rather just leave it alone. And I hear if you have kids on a schedule–it really messes them up since they can’t even tell time and know why they are screwed up!

    New camera! So exciting!

Well, I live in Arizona and we fight the man when it comes to Daylight Savings. I’ve lived here my whole life so I have no idea how it works. All I know is sometimes I’m a 2 hr difference from the East Coast, and other times 3 hours. I just can’t remember when I’m 2 vs 3.

Everyone knows that DST originates with a dispute between the American government and an alien race that happened in the early part of the 20th century.

You see, it takes about six months for the aliens to mount an attack on the rest of the world and when you change the time on them, it throws their whole plan out of whack and they have to start planning all over again.

To make sure we keep tabs on these aliens, we selected Saskatchewan and Arizona to forgo the time shift and give all the aliens a place to live. So that’s where they are. Planning their attack. Only to be foiled by the next daylight savings event.

    So I’m all for it.

And I’m jealous that you got a new camera! I didn’t even know you were that way inclined. I too am saving my pennies for a Canon that I have my eye on…

    congrats on the new cam!!!

Shnewt: HA! That’s the best explanation yet. Then, I’m all for it.

…And, I can understand why you wouldn’t think I’m big into photography with the crap I’ve posted online here. That said, I am very proud of the snaps I took at the Rieffel Bird Sanctuary which are on my walls. I took those with a plain-ole-point-and-shoot Canon SD400! So, I can’t wait to be able to put my amateur talent into a far more powerful camera and see what happens.
