The big question!
Nope, it’s not what you think. 
Here’s the deal: I’m booked on a cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii for 12 nights… Leaving September 19th.
I’d normally never book on a cruise that required me to pay for two people when I’m alone in the cabin, but it’s a trip that my Dad has been looking forward to for almost a year. There’s currently 11 of us booked, and it should be a total blast.
But, I don’t like travelling solo. I’ve done it before (almost a month to Europe last year), and I would much prefer to have a friend along to share in the tropical adventure. Yes, I know, I’ll have my family along for the trip — including my brother and Diane, but they are considering this their honeymoon, and they’d prefer to sit on a beach much more than I do, so I know I’ll have a lot of time on my own.
This isn’t a bad thing, but since I’m paying for two people to go, why not share my adventure?
So, here’s my question: (in two parts)
a) Does anyone (I personally know) want to share this most awesome adventure with me in a balcony cabin? — I’d let you come along for next to nothing (put a bit towards the cabin/port charges, and air home is all that I ask!) And, I can actually have a couple join me, if you don’t mind a bunk bed.

What would you do, if you were me?

That’s going to be an awesome trip. Have a good time. Maybe you can find a friend that you can split it with before then. Surely someone would like to go on a trip like that.
Hopefully you’ll find a buddy for your trip. It’s easier/more fun to party/tear around the town with a friend, not the same thing as with one’s family. I can sympathize.
I also went to Europe last year on my own. It was too late for me to book at a time when a friend could go, but I found a Paris week deal, and figuired it would be ok if it was just a week considering I had a list of stuff I didn’t see on my previous 2 trips there that I wanted to nail. In the end I wasn’t overly keen being on my own (I don’t think I’ll do it again), but I did find an internet cafe that was also a walking tour company (english speaking) so I found a hangout near my hotel, so that was kinda cool. Plus cute friendly waiters in the bistro down the street….
It has never bothered me to go solo on a vacation trip. In many ways, it can be a relief because I can relax without having to feel the need to entertain somebody all the time.
That being said, I’d say TAKE ME! Except I can’t go in September.

I don’t really need a cruise to a tropical paradise seeing as I’m already living in one! (And I hate the cruise ships that come here!)

Hell, Tan, I’d love to join you but I doubt I could promise to behave. You’re just too damn good looking. I do think you have the right idea though. You’d have a much better time if you shared the adventure (and cabin) with someone you’re not related to.
I’ve never been on a cruise before, but I’m guessing it would be a blast with or without somebody. However, I DO live in Hawaii, and know that you’ll have an amazing time here. There’s so many places to check out, and I’ve barely had time to explore myself.
