Rafting in the rain!

TGIF! I can’t tell you how happy I am the weekend is here. Even if it is going to be raining for the whole time.

Vern and I are heading up to the Reo Rafting Resort

The Planets trailer

in Boston Bar for a do-over. Bryan at Reo found my blog entry on my experience last September

(hint: it wasn’t great) and wanted to make it right for us! So… He arranged to have a credit available for me to enjoy a good time on the rapids this time around.

Despite the rain, I’m sure Vern and I will have a great time camping, playing travel Scrabble, and playing some card games… In between, of course, drinking copious amounts of wine coolers (who says it has to be hot to enjoy coolers?), and enjoying some much-needed time away.

Besides, we’re gonna get wet while on the water, anyhow! So bring on the extreme experience! I’m looking forward to having a great trip this weekend to blog about…

What’s everyone else up to, this weekend?

ps: (update) I have 5 Pownce invites

… First come, first served! Don’t know what Pownce is? This is what they say it’s about: Pownce is a way to send stuff to your friends. What kind of stuff? You can send just about anything: music, photos, messages, links, events, and more. You can do it all on our web site, or install our lightweight desktop software that lets you get out of the browser.

You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0 feed. Both comments and pings are currently closed.

Well, I’m gettin’ my Harry Potter book, and… well that oughta take care of the whole weekend, really.

I’m working on my last assignment for my course, so I don’t mind the rain as it will keep my apartment cool (as opposed to stuffy and hot).

I would rather be doing what you’re doing though. Camping in the rain (as long as it isn’t a torrential downpour) can be pleasant if you have good company, lots o’junkie snacks and some games. My fave rainy day camping trip was up at Garibaldi, we went for walks, and hung out in the huts drinking tea and playing cribbage.

Have a good time on your trip, and say hi to the massage guy (Lesley, I finally remembered his name!) for me.

  • pounce invite? Would LOVE one!!

and what am I doing this weekend? Lazy brunch with a good friend I see 3 times a year. Hopefully, Harry Potter movie on Sunday, book on Monday. Serious surfing. and some serious rest. Not as exciting as yours by a long shot, but … feels luxurious and satisfying.

My weekend? Besides working on Saturday :( , it’s going to be filled with hiking and snorkeling all day on Sunday; although I think I’d rather be rafting.

I’d also like to check out that pounce if you have any invites left.

    Have fun rafting!

Don’t have anything planned. Maybe go to the climbing gym tomorrow.

    Have fun rafting! :)

Bryan’s my new hero (well, after you, of course.) How cool that he found your entry and wanted to make everything right.

If there are any Pownce invitations left, I’d humbly love one. If not, no worries: I’ll research it anyway because it looks hugely cool. Raft safe!

  • Wow, sounds like some of you had really nice weekends planned — Hope it worked out!

For those that want the Pownce invites, and indicated so here, please do drop me a line at my first name @netchick.ca — I’ll send you the invite tonight!

:) I agree, Carmi — Bryan was great dealing with this. I definitely had a better experience with the crew and water this time around (story to follow in another blog entry) although the visitors *sucked* to a small degree. Don’t miss my next blog entry for the deets!
