It’s the MID-WEEK SOCIALIZING Game!

It's the mid-week socializing game!Hey guys! It’s that time of the week, again… Time to socialize on the fly! (And, I’ll have one of those shots in the photo, please!)

Here’s how it works: I’ll start with a question, and the first person answers my question, and then asks a different question for the next person in the same comment.

I’ll start!

Which TV program (if you watch tv) are you most looking forward to the premiere of, in the Fall? divx miami vice

  • Hey Tanya, although I do not watch much of TV but if possible i would like to see the re-premier of Friends

  • Welcome DFM! You missed the question for the next person, so I’ll add one on…

Q: Did you read any good books this summer?

  • Rebecca says:

    A: Jericho, Heroes and House.

A: I haven’t but John’s finally been reading the book I got him for Christmas. Being a Chicago Cubs fan, it’s a book about a blogger guy moving to “Wrigleyville”. Blogging and baseball – fun!

Q: Speaking of fall, in which city have you experienced the most beautiful autumn? Leaves turning, warm days, cool nights *sigh*

  • A: I’d have to say, Sechelt, growing up (I lived there for 18 months from 14 to 16) and it was a remarkable place for the turning of the seasons. Gorgeous setting with the leaves turning, falling into the nearby ocean, and the untouched land surrounding the town glowed in the evening light with all the different coloured foliage. Highly recommended to experience!

Q: What’s your favourite board game? (Do you think having people over for a games night is a lost art in our digital world?)

  • mhairi says:

Not looking forward to TV season really but Amazing Race and Canucks hockey should be good…

  • archshrk says:

    A. favorite board game right now is Settlers of Catan but there are other non-board games we enjoy like phase 10 and Mexican Train. As for game nights, you’d be surprised how many people have them – and not just D&D geeks.

    Q. What’s your favorite food dish you wish you could make – but can’t (yet)

  • David says:

    A.Being a fabulous cook this is hard…
The spicy Portugese chicken recipe John uses at his
    local spots comes to mind.

    Q.Will Tanya ride with me!?

  • A: Ride where, and on/in what? ;)

Q: What’s the drink you absolutely must have, enjoying the a summer night on a patio by the water?

  • David says:

    (that’s 2 questions for me)
    A. On my 04 FLT motorcycle round Marine to Horseshoe Bay.
    A. Ice cold water and Corona!

    Q. Have today’s adults largely forgotten how to have fun and enjoy life to it’s fullest?

  • Jonathan says:

    A. David, yeah, I would say that most of them have. Myself included. We get so tied up in our schedules, blackberries, worrying about work away from work that we forget to take time for the smallest things. And those small things usually end up on being the best memories we make for ourselves.

Q.What’s your idea of the most romantic date?

  • Rick says:

Wow… I can’t pass this question up… A perfect evening for me would have a lady come by, pick me up from home due to the fact I had been drinking heavily, go grab some food and drinks, insult her a few times while scaring the hell out of her, then have her pick the tab up with enough left over for a cab ride home! ;) I had to Tanya… sorry!! hehehe

I think a nice open restaurant on the beach would work for me. But too bad the beach is 1000 miles away at the moment.

    Q: Mac or PC?

  • Patricia says:

    A. I like sitting around a fire (fireplace or an outdoor one) late evening.

    Q. What is driving you crazy right now?!!!

  • shnewt says:

A: people who answer out of turn.

Q: where is the most embarrassing place you’ve ever vomited.

  • Patricia says:

    A. I have to answer schnewt’s question! A few years back on a tour of France (I actually don’t remember which town it was but it was somewhere after Normandy). I had a really yummy french meal. Unfortunately the appetizer was double-creamed and the main meal (entree) was also double-creamed. Too rich for moi… Later in the middle of the night … yes I did get sick but the bathroom door was stuck!!! There was no garbage can handy, or plastic bag and my roomie was still asleep so the only option was…yes out the window…. Don’t tell anyone ‘kay? ;-)

    Q. What movie made you laugh so hard that you had tears rolling down your face?

  • Utenzi says:

Wow. Rick has a nasty sense of humor! LOL

    A. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that much due to a movie. Books, occasionally, but not a movie. Movies only inspire tears due to poignant moments.

    Q. Given the theme of Tan’s recent bad date, what location was your worst dating experience at?

  • A: Hmm. So many to choose from, lately. :) Thanks for the wonderful reminder, Rick, ya goof. Seriously, the Mountain Shadow in Burnaby (that last nightmare) was one of the worst.

    (and poor P… Yikes…)

Q: What would you consider your best date location to be?

  • David says:

    Good Evening Tanya
Vancouver has so many great places to meet for a date.
    I can’t say I have a ‘best date location’.
I tend to think it’s all about the company along on the date that matters.
But to answer the question I must include.

Dave’s top 10 list of best date locations…
    at number
10 that sushi joint in Horseshoe Bay
    09 Merlins
    08 Country Meadows Golf Club
    07 Stanley Park
    06 The Raven
05 a sweet little known local beach
    04 Flying Beaver Patio
    03 Joe Fortes
    02 Grouse Nest/Mountain
and the number one best date location is
    Wherever Tanya wants.

  • Hey, that’s a great top 10 list, David! I even know where most of them are! (Merlins… Are you referring to that nightclub of long-time-past in Victoria?)

Alas, you forgot a question for the next visitor ;)

    So…

    Q: What’s your favourite sensation?

  • David says:

    Nope. I seldom enter nightclubs.
Merlin’s, at the base of Blackcomb, the place Ross inhaled too much second hand smoke before Nagano. Never a dull moment!
Yes I realized I’d forgotten something.
    Thanks.

A: My favorite sensations are feelings.

The sensation of feeling passion is tops.
It is what keeps us all alive and it’s my favorite sensation.
I seek it. Adrenaline only fuels it. I find it in my sporting activities. My work.
I seek and inspire it in people I work with and coach.
    It IS the carrot.
Passion increases the worth of everything.

I still have not had my original question answered.
Though you did answer it with some questions…I must ask again.

Q: Will Tanya ride with me!?
or at least ask enough questions of me to determine my worth as a new friend. I did see something regarding a passion for motorcycling. A previous sv650.? nice sporty twin compared to my ‘flying couch’

    Please?

  • Tawcan says:

I’m going to randomly pick one question to answer:

Q: where is the most embarrassing place you’ve ever vomited.

A: While getting out of a bus in downtown I vomited all over the bus stair and continued vomiting as I walked out of the bus. Rather embarrassing b/c it was on the way to a bar for my bday… Oops.

Q: Michael Vick – should he get banned in NFL or should he get a 2nd chance after he gets released from jail? That’s after he went from a tight end to a wide receiver in the jail!

  • Rick says:

Ummm sorry if i offended anyone there with my twisted cents of humor. I just couldn’t hold back. I think Tanya knows I was only picking on her though…

    Hopefully.

  • Jordan says:

    HEEEEEROOOOOES!! Love that show.

Most embarrassing place I’ve ever vomited…Well, it wasn’t embarrassing at the time, because I didn’t get caught- but I’m sheepish to admit now, that is was in The Louvre.

What is the answer to the question of life, the universe and everything?

  • David’s A: Thanks for the invite to ‘jump on the back’ but I never ride with anyone on the back unless I know them very well. I’ve been down on a bike, and injured badly, so I’m now much more comfortable riding my own (which, I might have another bike in the Fall, so then, yes… I’d be pleased to go on a ride with you!)

Tawcan’s A: I don’t think any professional sport should allow convicted felons to play. There’s plenty of great talent out there, give the chance to play to someone who deserves the opportunity!

Rick: I laughed and laughed. You are silly. ;) I would have taken the same opportunity to rib you, if you actually had a blog! LOL!

OMG Jordan! The Louvre??! Okay, that beats my story from New York (search this blog for puking New York subway… hehe)

    A: Oh! I know this one! 42!

Q: Have you ever been stuck in an elevator?

  • Rick says:

Ya see Tanya… that is the EXACT reason I don’t blog. My life is way to screwed up and would allow WAY too many people to feed me, well yanno… :)

I can dish it out, but I don’t take it well!!! hehe.. Besides, it is better to give that receive right?

  • Hehhe… Damn, well, when you do start (and they all do, eventually, Rick!) let me know ;)

Next Question: (or answer my last one above)

What was the last CD or song you actually paid money for?

  • Charlene says:

I’m going to answer Rick’s question that was missed. Have a PC but just purcbased a Mac Book Pro which I have yet to set up along with the latest ipod that has yet to come out of the box. I think I want someone to transfer the data from the PC to the Mac for me. BTW Tan, the Mountain Shadow pub used to be a church and was my old kindergarten many moons ago;-)

Q: What do you think about guys in their 50′s that are seen with a 20 something hanging off their arm? Personally I think their pathetic.

  • Rick says:

hmmm… Last thing I bought. It was vinyl… purchased in 1969 – Beatles – Abby Road (ok, that was my first purchase… not last).

I honestly can’t remember. I am a download junkie and have over 600 CD’s worth of music though.

And since I am almost of that age, I will answer Charlene’s question too. I agree, they are pathetic. 30 years is too much of an age gap regardless of what anyone says. 20 years is pushing it… 10-15 is an acceptable max age gap I think. My issue that I have being single and looking is that 98% of the women that are close to my age group are over weight and out of shape, which I find unattractive. Maybe I just need to get out to different places, but that is what I have found over the last couple years.

    Q. Rap or Rock?

  • Agasel says:

Rock. Love the sound of guitar, and you can’t ignore a good drumbeat!

    Q. You and I are on a date. What drink would you buy for me, and what are you having?

  • Here from Mike Athouse tonight and before I play the game I just want to say I am in awe of you Bloggingf, or whatever it used to be called, for ten whole years! That is amazing and I congratulate you, my dear….BRAVO!!!!

    Okay…now to the question:

Rap or Rock….NEITHER! (lol) But if I had to choose I think I would say Rap.

    George Clooney or Johnny Depp?

  • Patricia says:

    A. I would have to say “George Clooney” as I loved his movie Solaris (and I appreciated Syriana). I have this DVD in my collection.

    Q. What is the wierdest food item that you ever ate?

  • A: Hmm. That’s a tough one for me… I’m not really an adventurous eater. How about practically EVERYTHING at a dim sum I went to? I didn’t know what any of it was. That was really out of the norm for me, and most of it was pretty good. But, it’ll be a while before I do that again ;)

Q: Did you have a good day, today?
