Long Weekend Friday Silliness!!!

CAT’S BLOG
Day 483 of my captivity…
My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction that I get from clawing the furniture. Tomorrow I will eat another houseplant.
Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded – must try this at the top of the stairs.
In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair. I must remember to try this on their bed.
Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear in their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, that did not work according to plan…
There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing “allergies.” I must learn what this is and how I may use it to my advantage.
I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured.
But I have patience, I can wait, it is only a matter of time…

Me? A much-anticipated dinner with Zoe, Jason, Cin, Paul and Vern (finally!), a second date on Saturday night, and I’m cooking dinner on Sunday for friends, after which, I’m hosting a games night at my place! No plans for Monday, yet!

Hockey season is upon me now… that will consume this weekend and pretty much everyone between now and March. I will be coaching the University of Colorado’s Women’s team this year which I am really looking forward to. I have never coached a “chick” team before, so this will be an experience!!!

Patricia: Not sure yet… Something gluten free for my friend – It’s her going-away dinner. ps! Do you want to join us for a games night on Sunday? I’m having a few people over after dinner (small group) to enjoy a board game or 2.
Great, and so true! Your weekend sounds very busy, but also very fun. We had friends over for a Friday “Happy Hour” and dinner (kind of a weekly ritual with our group). Today we are working in the yard, tomorrow we are going out to our Barrier Islands on the boat, and Monday is a Labor Day party. We are so enjoying our last weekend before our oldest Short Person starts school (Kindergarten). Michele sent me to say enjoy your weekend!
I dont get a long weekend because I’m not in North America, but as a professor in Korea it’s nice to know I’ve got an extra week of summer before my classes start. Of course, I need the time for course planning.
My short weekend? I’m gonna try to unpack after moving, without reinjuring my splinted right wrist.
I knew it; I’m not just paranoid…

Rea, I just couldn’t stop laughing when I read that — I had to share.
I love both dogs and cats equally, but I can see why some people dislike cats. They do have a sneaky and stalking nature, but I love it! My friend has a cat that used to love stalking me. She’d suddenly lie down flat on her belly(like lions do when stalking prey) and slowly inch closer before pouncing on my shoe.

I absolutely LOVE the dog and cat blog. Percy is finally starting to tolerate my husband–it only took 19 months. Spencer has been his best frien from the beginning.
My long weekend starts tody. I worked Saturday and Sunday but now am off until Thursday. Tonight I will watch college football (Go Seminoles) and Wednesday night I have bookstore plans.
