It's the MID-WEEK Socializing Game!
Hey guys! It’s that time of the week, again… Time to socialize on the fly! (And, I’ll have one of those shots in the photo, please!)
Here’s how it works: I’ll start with a question, and the first person answers my question, and then asks a different question for the next person in the same comment.
I’ll start!
What was the most impulsive thing you’ve done recently? Did it work out?
Also! Don’t forget… You’ve only got a few days left to participate in the “Super Deluxe 10 Yr Bloggoversary Contest!
“

A. I signed up for an Emily Carr course!
Q. What was the last movie that you saw in the theatre that you attended by yourself?
A: Wow… I’ve never gone to a movie by myself, unless you count “U571″ on the cruise ship a few years ago (they had a theatre on the ship, and my travel partner didn’t want to see it)
Q: Do you like the weather hot, or cold?
I go to movies by myself all the time! The last one would have been some cheezy romance for sure.
I like the weather we have now since it allows me to wear layers.
What do you think of boys wearing pink?
A: I love boys who wear pink. especially if they have a nice firm ass and talk with a lisp.
Q: when was the last time (if ever) you were hit on by someone of the same sex?
A: About 20 years ago when I was just a young sales guy working for Kawasaki Motors corp. I was at a huge trade show, my first one, and I was having a drink in the louge of the hotel with one of my customers. Afer about half dozen tequila shots he put his hand right in my crotch and asked me if I thought he was good looking.
I was seriously freaked. I just yelled “WTF? Get away from me” and left the bar knowing I was fired. Didn’t happen. I worked there 9 more years.
Q: When was the last time (if ever) that your “beer goggles” got you into a “coyote ugly” situation?
Hmm… can’t say I’ve ever been drunk enough to put on the beer goggles, so I’d have to say “never” to that one.
Have to be a “never” to shnewt’s question…
For T’s: overall I prefer the cold. And snow. I love snow.
And to Patricia, I’ve only once ever been to a movie alone, and that was “Without A Clue”, the Sherlock Holmes spoof with Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley (hilarious movie, too).
And along those lines: do you generally prefer watching movies on the big screen, or would you rather kick back at home to watch them?
A: definitely at home- drinks, popcorn- yeahhh!!
Q: do you shop online? if so what do you most like to buy or look at?
A: All the time! This morning, I bought my photography course online! Last night, I was looking at possible vacations (I haven’t used a travel agent in years now — I prefer to do my own research). In fact, I even buy my groceries online (www.ezgrocer.ca)
Q: What was the last course you took?
A. I just started a Spanish course this week. The last course before that would have to be jewellery making at Vancouver Community College a few years ago.
Q. What do you think should be done about the overly agressive drivers that seem to be rampant on the streets of Vancouver and the lower mainland these days? There have been too many children that have been killed lately due to aggressive, impatient drivers, especially in the Langley area. Not all cases have been reported in the news lately. I am hearing this from a co-worker that lives out there.
A. Stricter radar, which I guess means I support the expansion of the police force. (Which unfortunately probably means I pay more taxes. Ouch.)
For drivers charged with serious crimes, they shouldn’t be allowed to drive for *minimum* 5 years. Cash rewards should be given to people who report these criminals to police, if they try to drive during their probation.
Q. What type of food is your favourite when you eat out, and why?
A: I love sushi… I am not very good at making it at home (whereas, unbeknownst to most of my friends, I’m actually a good cook with more mainstream food)
Q: What was the last movie you saw in the theatre? Was it good?
A: Superbad. It was an excellent movie! Laughed my ass off.
Q: Do you prefer buying a CD or legally downloading music online?
A: i’m not sure but i THINK the last movie i saw was underdog, with my daughter and her two younger cousins. the movie was ok i guess but the best part happened after the outtakes. in one of the outtakes, underdog says, “have no fear, underwear is here!” we giggled so much over it that we decided to make up underwear names for EVERYONE. a selection: bra-ma (that’s me), undiegirl, wedgie woman, ginch god, thongchick. aaahhh – 8-year-olds are fun!
Q: seeing that it’s almost autumn equinox – what do you like about fall?
I’ll answer both Tawcan, and Isabella!
A1: I like both… Although these days, I buy music online much more than hard copies.
A2: I love the changing leaves, and the light, cool breezes. I could do without the rain, though.
Q: Do you have a game console at home?
A. Nope. The only computer game I play is the CBC Sushi Samurai which just requires my keyboard.
Q.Do you know a man who knits? (I actually know 2!).
A: I also know 2 men who knit! hmmm…. what are the odds, they’re the same 2 as you know, Patricia?
Q: If given a choice: Flashy red sports car, or top quality more conservative car?
A: HANDS DOWN!! Flashy red sports car. I’m a sport car fanatic! (ps: Nancy… I’m a total screw up! I just realized that promised link didn’t appear! MAN! Watch for an email from me tomorrow — Next month’s sidebar banner is on me!)
Q: Do you prefer to lay low on Friday nights, or gear up for the weekend by getting out and having fun?
A.It depends on how I feel on Friday. I like having an easy evening on friday (movies, gym or a bit of dinner with a friend) not stay out too late. I just get too tired from work. If I have a big night out I usually prefer Saturdays.
Q. What book was popular when you were 15 years old? One that everyone was reading. (for mine it was Kahlil Gibran’s ‘The Prophet’, believe it or not everyone at my junior high was reading this beautiful book of indian poetry).
A: oh, i remember the “prophet” frenzy. the one i remember from when i was 15 is the weird cartoon “fritz the cat”. now you know how old i am
Q: let’s stay with our teens. what’s the movie that left the most lasting impression when you were that age? for me, it was “psycho” and “easy rider” (both equally but in very different ways)
Slight diversion in reference to Patricia’s question… I’ve never read any Indian poetry, but several years ago, I recorded a friend’s band when they did an indie concept album (or part of the album anyway) based on the Ramayana, a Hindu epic poem. It was pretty cool – helped get them a record deal.
As to isabella’s question… the only movies I remember seeing at an early age (in the theater anyway) were Star Wars (my cousin took us; I was 9 and I enjoyed it, but really “get it”), and Black Beauty (at the little theater in 100 Mile House – living in the boonies meant we didn’t get to movies a lot). Neither left much of an impression at the time, although Star Wars later became one of my all-time favorites (sequels? what sequels?).
So my (slightly self-interested) question is: who here digs epic power-metal concept pieces, and if you do, what’s YOUR favorite? Or for that matter, what’s your favorite concept album?
A: Manowar: Die For Metal — Reminds me of my youth
That said, although I’ve heard this stuff from time to time, I have very, very little of this genre in my own collection these days. I’m all about Hard House, and later on, Chillout.
Q: What’s your favourite album of all time, or… if you prefer, do you have a song that epitomizes how you live?
