First of all… Thank you to everyone who put in an effort with my “Super Deluxe 10 Yr. Bloggoversary Contest”! You guys all made it a great success!!
In the morning, myself and a couple of close friends who didn’t participate in the contest will pick the 20 finalists who will go on to the vote, where the popular entry will win the Nintendo Wii! 
(err, it’s actually a gift card, so, even better!)

And, on to tonight! I had planned to stay in this evening, and just have a quiet evening by myself, but at about 9 I reconsidered. I’d already had that last night — I’d invited Vern over to have pizza and beer and watch some movies, but he left just an hour after he arrived (due to a girl calling… *sigh*) and I couldn’t stomach another night by myself. Don’t get me wrong, I did have a number of offers to get out, but early on, I just couldn’t get my mojo going.
But, by 9, I decided that staying home alone on a Saturday night was CRAP, and so I walked down to the casino. I just felt lucky tonight, somehow.
I’m sure glad I did! I walked in with a crisp, brown, $100 bill to spend, and at one point tonight, was up to nearly $6000. Of course, hindsight is 20/20… I should have left when I was up so high, but I elected to stick around until 4am because I was having a great time with everyone at the table, which was why I went in the first place. I knew I had to leave, though, when I was fighting to stay awake despite the numerous coffees I downed during the adventure. I’m happy to report that although I wasn’t up the 600% I was at one point in the evening, I did walk away with a cool $1500 in my pocket. Yay! And, more importantly, I had a really fun night. Which, in all honesty, was all I was really looking for, anyhow.

Studying for me, I am working on getting myself A+ certified, which means a lot of reading and playing with spare PC bits. Kinda dull, sure, but if I want to get a job, it’s for the best.

i was supposed to work all day yesterday & last night but played hooky instead. did some knittin’, watched “death proof” -awesome!!
Saturday night was a night of online poker for me…. didn’t win though, but had fun
i think I was in bed by ten, no eleven, after giving a lengthy massage, to a deserving friend. I get up early on Sundays, like most days, so staying up is not good for me.
Great idea, heading to the casino when you feel like going out alone! Sometimes I stay cocooned when I have no plans. Thanks for the reminder that there’s plenty to do in the city!

Cynthia: Hey, didn’t know you and N like to gamble? I’m always looking for an occasional casino buddy or two! None of my friends like to go with me because I freak them out (like Vern, who literally stresses when I won’t walk away when I’m having fun — Hell, it’s not like I’m spending a ton, so when I’m having fun, then it’s worth it to stay and try to take more of the casino’s money!)
Sonya: I’ve never played online poker! Is it fun? Sounds like fun, but might be too much of a solitary game for me — I like to get out and meet new people.
David, sounds like a very relaxing night!
A: I used to just stay in when I didn’t have any immediate options (or the ones I declined had already gone on to other things) but then I realized that I’m the product of my own misery at home alone unless I do something about it! So, now, when I’m feeling like that, I get out no matter what. I never regret it!
Online poker is fun, it is my means of gambling since I have a lil’ guy at home and getting out isn’t that easy… lol. To take the solitude away from it, I chat lots with peeps on the tables with me, sometimes the chat is arguing though, lol but it is quite entertaining and sometimes I win big and am able to cash out my winnings or I just keep playing a bit every now and then.
