It's the "10 YR BLOGGOVERSARY" edition of the socializing game!
Hey guys! It’s that time of the week, again… Time to socialize on the fly! (And, I’ll have one of those shots in the photo, please!)
Here’s how it works: I’ll start with a question, and the first person answers my question, and then asks a different question for the next person in the same comment.
I’ll start!
Have you ever won anything significant in a contest?
Also! The vote is in full force below for the Wii (err… Gift Card)! Make sure to place your vote on the sidebar for your favourite entry to the “Super Deluxe 10 Yr Bloggoversary Contest!”

I won two iPods! It was a contest at work for coming up with innovative ways to communicate with employees.
OK…here’s my question:
What’s something you wish your grandma never saw you do?
My grandma saw me draw in her treehouse.. (they were lil anotomically correct stickmen..LOL)
Stupidest thing you ever ran into….???
Wow, Sandra, that’s awesome! Do you use them both, or sell one? I *heart* my iPod! I want a new one now, with video. I used to have two, and sold one to a friend’s Dad. (Welcome, by the way!)
A: Unfortunately, I didn’t see my Grandmother very much — Maybe once a year or two, so I can’t say there was anything she saw during our brief visits. Oh wait. I remember something… I think I was about 6 years old, and it was raining out, and I wanted to play in the puddles with my dog, except she wasn’t cooperating, so I dragged her in with me while I jumped in… My grandmother had a very dissaproving look on her face when I noticed her looking out the window. Wow, I haven’t thought about that moment since I was a young child! How embarrassed was I?
Q: Do you often work late, or keep a regular 8 hour schedule?
Sorry LiL X! (you were missed! And, welcome!)
Stupidest thing I ever ran into? Hmm… Another car. I was over tired, years ago, and didn’t notice another car changing lanes into mine, and I rear ended the guy. Doh.
Q: See mine above!
A: lately i’ve been working late & long days-loads of work- but i love it all & wouldn’t change a thing!
Q: do you use facebook? if so, who’s the best “find” you’ve made- as in did you find an old elementary school buddy you lost touch with, old friends or family?
A: No, I don’t use facebook. Nobody close to me has ever invited me to join it, and I had an awkward reunion with a few old high school friends that I’m not eager to repeat.
Q: Do you keep photographs, gifts, or mementos from ex-boyfriends or girlfriends? Why or why not?
A: I don’t go out of my way to delete or throw away photos or gifts from past boyfriends, and quite honestly, I haven’t really received many gifts that would be put into that “sentimental” arena either. (ie: No boyfriend has ever purchased any kind of jewelry for me, hell, I bought my own wedding ring many, many moons ago)
Q: Do you own a DSLR? Do you know how to fully use it’s features?
A. Nope. I have a 35mm film camera. I only use it in manual mode, which is how I learned to use it. It does have automatic features but I’ve never had time to fiddle with them.
Q.What was your favourite book when you were 12? The one that you read over and over again. (Mine was “Saturday, the 12th of October” by Norma Fox Mazer about a girl who falls asleep in a park only to wake up in a primative society in the past).
Q.What was my favourite book when I was 12?
A. Leon Uris’ Trinity. Suffice it to say I was an odd child. Explains a lot, actually.
My turn.
Q. What visual artist (dead or alive) would you like to have over for dinner .. and why?
A: Good one, Michelle! I’d have to say, if I could only pick one… At the moment it would be “Ansel Adams” — I had 5 of his prints on my walls in my old house, and I just love his works. He’s a master. I’d love to glean a few tips on lenses and composition from him.
Q: What do you do when you can’t get to sleep. For days? (I currently feel like a character from a Steven King book due to my continual insomnia… and the 5-HTP isn’t helping. Doh!)
A. I don’t regularly have that problem. Lately it’s been trying to stay awake. (I sneak off to the toilet at work and take a snooze leaned against the toilet paper rolls.)
When I do hit a bout of insomnia, I rotate through a couple of solutions. Get up and play games on the web. Read. Watch TV. Take a hot bath. Have a shot of something. Clean.
Q. What’s your super power?
I have been too busy to read & cast my vote on the wii competition. I’ll have to find some time to do that soon.
A: My ability to teleport myself across the world! Ok I’m kidding.
Q: Which do you prefer… orange juice or apple juice? Why?
Orange juice. I like the tangyness of it. Plus it tastes good with vodka.
Q: What is your favourite dish to cook at home?
A. For a special dinner in the fall or winter months I like to cook lamb shanks with a tomato red wine sauce. Slow cooked in the oven for 3 hours until the meat forks off the bone. Served with garlic or pesto mashed potatoes and crisp green beans. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
Q. What is your “new” favorite cocktail?
The only thing I’ve ever won in my life was a box full of canned goods. Seriously.
I was eight and the church (St. David’s, Tsawwassen) was having a raffle.
First prize: A cake.
Runner-up: A box full of canned goods.
I wanted the cake so badly. But I won the canned goods.
Now, as an adult, of course I’d have much rather have had the cans, but when you’re a kid, pureed sugar trumps all.
OMG… Really? That’s so sad! Well, at least you won something? Heheh…
(ps: yer breaking the game!)
I’ll answer the question above ya!
A: I’d have to say, there’s this really awesome martini at Zin that I found the last time I was there that I enjoyed. But, I couldn’t have more than one, because it’s too sweet (I can’t remember the name of it)
Q: Looking in your kitchen cupboard at your mugs and glasses… Are they all matching, or are they all “unique”? (ie: logos, different sets and sizes?)
Wondering if Tod is trying to trump his competition with the pity factor. If he gets 2nd place in your competition, Tanya, you should ship him a box of canned goods, just for a laugh
re: Q: Looking in your kitchen cupboard at your mugs and glasses… Are they all matching, or are they all “unique (ie: logos, different sets and sizes?)
A: Well if you mean do they come in sets, the answer is yes. Mugs and glasses with logos are banned, of course. Mine is a classy kitchen. The only exception (to the ‘matchingness’, not the logo ban) are a few antique tea cups. One of a kind, baby!
My Q: How do you organize your bathroom? All products in one big drawer? A place for everything and everything in its place? Less is more?
Details, please. And colour schemes if appropriate.
Well this is fun:)
My bathroom..Shampoos and Condtioners all in a plastic basket lots of freebies and samples in there along with full size bottles.Half the shelf for Men’s Junk, the other half for Women’s Accessories.Slide-Open Drawer for Soaps, Shower Gel,Q-tip. Extra toothpaste.
Shelf under sink for cleaning supplies, plunger toliet brush.no colour scheme.
My Question:
What is your favorite perfume/cologne?
A. Calvin Klein’s Obsession. It works well with my body chemistry and even though I’m now allergic to a lot of perfumes this one doesn’t bother me at all.
Q. What was the topic of the last “dummies” book you bought/read? (eg. “Wine for Dummies”, etc…)
A: i have to confess that i never read a full “dummies” or “idiot’s guide”. a few years ago, i bought something like the idiot’s guide to writing romance novels. it was super cheap and i thought it might be an interesting read, seeing that romance novels are such an industry and are supposedly quite difficult to write. just glanced through it, though.
Q: i don’t get football. do you?
re: Q: i don’t get football. do you?
A: Actually, while I’m not a fan, I have to say it’s actually pretty interesting once you take the time to learn about the strategy. Preferably from some hunk, whose bed you enjoy jumping into. Added bonus if you have a snarky younger brother whose mind you can blow by being able to show off your play-by-play commentary abilities. Not that I’m speaking from personal experience. *Ahem*
Q: Vancouverites : will you be hanging around town during the Olympics or would you rather make tons of cash by subletting your place and getting out of dodge? Why?
(giggle… You are so funny, Michelle!)
A: It’s still up in the air at this point. I actually went to SLC during their Olympics, but not to see any events (I’m weird), but rather to visit a good friend there. I’ve got a 2.5 bedroom right downtown, but, I’ve also got probably too many electronics and nice things I wouldn’t want to risk having wrecked.
Q: Do you have a bad habit you are trying to correct?
Looks like we’re stuck – lets see if I can unstick us.
re – Q: Do you have a bad habit you are trying to correct?
A: Yes. (insert pronounced silence here)
Q: If you were sent back in time, to an era of your choosing, which would it be and why?
It’s no longer mid-week and but I wouldn’t want to leave the last question unanswered so…
Q: If you were sent back in time, to an era of your choosing, which would it be and why?
A. I always thought that it would have been cool to have been an inventor during the turn of the century. Cooking up experiments in the barn, figuring things out…
