A marketer that knows how to get my attention!

I have to hand it to Darren Barefoot First Men in the Moon video

Return to House on Haunted Hill ipod Rat Race movie … He knows how to get my attention! First he sent me an email asking me if I’d like to try out a new Brother colour laser printer for a few months (err, I always like to try out free stuff!!) and then he sealed the deal by including a custom-made cartoon to exemplify the campaign.

Darren Barefoot gets my attention with this cartoon

And, I don’t even know where he got that last photo of me! Too funny…

In other news, man, have I been busy. I’ve been trying to get to several long-overdue emails, and just haven’t had any time. My trip is fast approaching (yay!) and I’m in desperate need of a shopping trip for some clothes for the trip (anyone wanna come?).

Last weekend was a total blast — Paul, Rachel, Monica, Chris, Vern and I enjoyed several drinks, rocked to Guitar Hero 2 (err… they all rocked, I sucked at the game, big time: I’m going to have to practice!) and had an incredible night of silliness and laughter. I’m so glad I put that evening together at the last minute. I can totally see hanging with Monica and Chris a lot more — They’re both great fun! And Paul and Rachel are always so entertaining — I wish we saw each other more!

Have you ever played Guitar Hero? And, what’s your favourite group-friendly game? (console or otherwise?)

that top photo of you is ADORABLE and i think i took the bottom one at a blogger meetup.

i’ve never played guitar hero but john and i witnessed GH3 being played at the Carlson’s (gusgreeper.com) the other night. i’m not a huge video game fan but it’s pretty entertaining. i love mario party for nintendo though :-P

  • Hey Rebecca! :) Thanks for the compliment — That was a self portrait I took on a cruise not too long ago. ;) I’d guessed the other one might be from the blogger meet-up!

Hey, you and John should join us at my next GH marathon evening (of course, with martinis!) — I’m thinking of having it on December 8th when I get back!

Congrats on the Samsung T10! That’s awesome — I’ve contacted Matchstick to see if I can participate in the viral campaign… :)

I got one of those comic strips too (but with my photos in it, not yours)… and here I thought I was special!

  • Beth: You are special. You’re all special. All, er, 11 of you. That’s still a very small, exclusive group of specialness, don’t you think?

  • Beth says:

Well, I suppose when you consider that there are over 6 billion people on Earth, 11 seems small and exclusive. OK, I feel better now.

    Beth,

You got an invitation, I didn’t hehehe. Admittedly, I don’t have a Flickr photostream either (I’m some obscure nebulous guy who’s blogging from Vancouver).

    Tanya,

I concur with Rebecca. You look gorgeous in that picture!

  • Awww… Thanks Raul! *blush*

  • Jordan says:

They’re all quite funny, and they’re all different. I’m impressed. And 11 really is a small group…I feel honoured, I really do.

  • Me too, without a doubt!! ;)

  • Oh Yay! We loved hanging out with you too – It was blast! Thanks again for having us over & I look forward to seeing you soon.

    Notes:

1)You should all know that I TOO absolutely sucked at Guitar Hero. I was please when I got through 1/4 of it before seeing the “FAILED” sign. When I made it to 64% I was ecstatic (never before had I known what it was like to be George Bush)…

    2) Tanya, the top photo of you in the comic strip is, well, I can only express it with a growling sound

    3) Darren, that comic strip (and the idea) is way too cute!

Guitar Hero rocks. I have all GH1, 2 and 3…and also 2 guitars. I’m thinking of buying “GH rocks the 80s.” There’s another party song called SingStar. It’s basically karaoke and the PS2 rates you. I think you can mumble your way through the song. It’s just on the basis if you can keep the tune. Check it out at SingStar.com. I’m thinking about getting it, but I need to master GH first…lol
