It's the MID-WEEK Socializing Game! (New Year's Style!)
Hey guys! It’s that time of the week, again… Time to socialize on the fly! (And, I’ll have one of those shots in the photo, please!)
Here’s how it works:
I’ll start with a question, and the first person answers my question, and then asks a different question for the next person in the same comment.
I’ll start!
Did you make any resolutions this year? Did you follow the ones you made last year?

yes, I have a resolution for sure: it’s a bit selfish – to put myself at the top of my list of care. The past four years, I’ve put every. spare. penny. into my business, and have lived more frugally than my previous 10 years combined. I’m financially fatigued! So I’m going to let my business slow down a bit, and go on a nice holiday this year, beef up my own RRSPs/investments, and go to the salon a lot more often!
Did I make one last year? Yes, to move my business in an online-direction (hence my blog, among other things).
Question: do you think it matters to Canada if Obama versus Clinton wins the Democtrat’s nomination?
nancy (aka money coach)’s last blog post: Tuesday’s Post: Can’t sleep; might as well blog about the cdn economy. Vancouver gets a D.
My resolution for 2008 is to improve my family’s health with damage control.
I did follow through with last years. I made time for myself to read everyday.
What is your favorite Fast Food? Why?
Robin
oops – make that “Democrat’s”. (still suffering insomnia. can’t type)

A1: Yes, I do. I’m very worried that Obama has a lot of nice things to say about what’s going to do for the US, but so far, I haven’t seen a whole lot of substance behind his hype. He’s got passion, just not enough real-world experience, IMHO. I’d *LOVE* to see Clinton be at the top of the ballot. She’s got class, smarts, confidence, and I think that she’d be a powerhouse to be reckoned with as a world leader. I’m not just saying this because of her sex, either. I think she’s got what it takes to make it in a man’s world of leading a super-power.
A2: Err, I can’t stand fast food. I guess if I had to pick one, it would be the White Spot express cheeseburger. At least it doesn’t taste as much like fast food!
Q: What are you looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to buying a home this year. Tracey and I have been planning and looking and I’d really like to get into a home this year.
Q: Are you renting or paying a mortgage?
Roger’s last blog post: R.I.P. Netscape
A: renting. even though i’ve been here for 25 years, as a european, i still don’t quite get the need for owning a home. plus with the prices now …
Q: do you read mysteries? if so, who’s one of your favourite authors?
isabella mori’s last blog post: we
A: Yes. Agatha Christie & Dean Koontz
Q: What’s something you’re looking forward to in this month?
Tawcan’s last blog post: Please call me a lazy monkey
I find the fact that the US has only 2 parties kind of sad. Like the cliche, they’re one party away from a dictatorship. Oh wait, they’re already there.
My new years resolution is to get laid. Within my personal standards, I mean. Not just with anyone.
Q: If you were going to add another instrument to Rock Band, which would it be?
I’ll answer both, because Tawcan was missed…
A1: I’m *VERY* much looking forward to meeting many of my material side of my biological family, in Calgary, this weekend! How cool is that? I’m so, so excited!
A2: Definitely keyboard… Would make it a bit complicated, but, I think it could work!
Q: Do you play XBox, Wii, or PS3 games? Which ones are your favourite? If so, do you mostly play online, or have people over to play with you?
A. I don’t have any of those yet, but if I did it would be the Playstation. A friend of mine told me of a japanese playstation game you can get (I forget the exact name)that involves a very big sticky ball of rice that you can roll things up in. Sounds like my kind of game! Right now I’ve been playing the free ones on the CBC site, mainly Sushi Samurai and Gruella’s Eye Scream Factory.
B.If they were making a movie about your life and you could cast any actor to play your role. Who would it be? (make sure it’s a believable choice).
A: Any actor? Hmm. No one could do me justice.
Honestly? I wouldn’t want my life to be portrayed in a movie anyhow — It’s far too convoluted, and few would actually sit through it.
But, if I had to choose, I would have to say, I’d lose 30 lbs, and get Nicole Kidman to play me. At least the hair is believable?
Q: Do you have HD cable yet? Are you paying through the nose to get these channels?
A: No, I don’t. My dear friend JT has HD cable and we hang out at his place rather frequently, so I don’t need to get that kind of cable myself. I have just regular cable at home, and when I am bored, I don’t even watch TV.
And on the New Year’s resolution: I decided that in 2008 I was going to take better care of myself and lead a less stressful life, hence work less, play more. That, and dancing salsa again
Q: Going along with the theme of the New Years’ resolutions, how long did it take you to do your Year In Review and what did you learn from last year? Will you apply it in this new year?
Raul’s last blog post: The writing is not flowing
A: Didn’t have a new year’s resolution. I simply don’t believe in that kind of stuff. Why start something only on the new year when you can start anytime you wish?
Q: How fats can you type?
http://speedtest.10-fast-fingers.com/
I got 103 yesterday!
Tawcan’s last blog post: Apparnetly pigs do fly
A. 131 points, 417 characters a minute. My typing teacher would be so proud of me!
Q. Do you believe resolutions should only begun at new years, or that they can start when ever you feel like it?
richgold’s last blog post: The day the music died
A. I believe resolutions can start whenever you want them to. Why wait for a specific date/time when you can do it RIGHT NOW?
Q. do you think that the mainstream world (aka – the majority of people) know/understand/get blogging or are we bloggers among the select few?
colleen’s last blog post: Choosing
A: colleen, that’s a great question! i talk to a lot of non-IT people about blogging and would say the majority don’t really get it. which is kinda funny because among us IT enthusiasts/geeks, some already yawn when we talk about blogging. i mean, it’s sooo 2005!
Q: is this mid week socializing game which started last mid week and is now getting close to this mid week going to run into next mid week?
isabella mori’s last blog post: a buddhist carnival – 3rd edition, part 1
Hey Isabella!
A: Ya, kinda ridiculous, huh? *sigh* There’s been a ton of things (HUGE THINGS) to blog about this week, but I’ve been so busy (and away in Calgary with those HUGE THINGS) and haven’t been able to keep up this week. Look for a fresh blog entry tonight, before tomorrow’s new socializing game
Q: When you feel really behind, what do you do to get caught back up? …Or, do you?
A: flail about, gnash my teeth, play scrabble instead … ok, and in my saner moments, i prioritize things and tackle the most important things. magically, then, 75% of the stuff takes care of itself.
C: (as in “comment”) – can’t WAIT to hear about the huge things!!!
Q: do you think in words or in pictures? both?
isabella mori’s last blog post: a buddhist carnival – 3rd edition, part 1
Enjoy the rest of the week!
A: I’d have to say, both? I haven’t really thought about it, actually. It’s funny though, because now that I think about it, I think in pop-up boxes
Usually above people’s heads. I know, I’m weird.
Q: Which cell provider are you with? Why did you pick them?
I finally gave up the cell with Fido. Nothing wrong with them but going back to wire feels freer than wireless access to me anywhere.
Where’d the week go? And are you feeling better yet?
