Aww, c'mon!!!
Wow.
I’ve been having REALLY, REALLY great luck lately.
I had a fabulous weekend all planned out, as described below… And what happens? I get HIT BY A CAR on Friday night coming home from dinner. I was in the middle of the street, crossing at a legal crosswalk (albeit, unmarked — It was an intersection) and this white car full of what looked like stupid kids, literally sped up and caught my left knee and hip with their front bumper. Although bruised, it was my right knee that I landed on, that was in serious pain by Saturday morning.
But, I was a trooper and went to my meeting despite the pain.
And, (no surprise, really) I closed the deal…
Then I promptly went home, and decided to file a police report. I didn’t bother on Friday night, because although I was really, really angry, I didn’t believe there was anything I could do with a single digit of the license plate, and only a very vague description of the car. But, it made me feel better anyhow.
Bastards. They could have killed me.
I am guessing they saw me in the intersection and thought, she’s crossing when she doesn’t have the right to – Let’s scare her. (But, they did more than scare me, they hit me as well) UH, no STUPID. Pedestrians, especially in intersections that aren’t controlled by a light, are ALWAYS in crosswalks with the right-of-way.
So, I missed the rest of the weekend after my Saturday morning business meeting. That totally stinks. I was really looking forward to seeing Christopher Lawrence Saturday night with Vern, and meeting new people with Monica and Chris, beforehand.
Today, I’m still kinda pissed. Thankfully, my right knee is doing better, though. That said, I’m going into the doctor later today to have it looked at.
Oh, and bizarrely enough, I noticed that my Chinese horoscope this year predicted that “The Dog” (me) should expect car accidents during 2008 Chinese Year of the Rat (glad I got that out of the way early, huh?). But, it also said I’ll have better luck this year… Um, I don’t want to tempt fate, but how does it get much worse than last year?
Do you know your Chinese sign? Are you doing anything special to observe the Chinese New Year?

Hope you’re knee gets better. It must have been quite a shock to get hit like that (and that they didn’t stop to see if you’re ok). Hopefully the sprain will mend up soon.

Thanks for your well-wishes. Yes, the kids took off from the scene (literally drove around me after they initially stopped for a moment… That’s what made me believe they hadn’t intended on hitting me). My knee is feeling better today, still a bit sore, but nothing that isn’t managed with staying off of it.
