Breakables hurt.
This is a public service announcement.
Breakables, when they break on your toe, hurt like hell.
I just thought everyone should know that.
Last night, I was taking a trip over to the new place with some of larger picture frames. I obviously attempted to grab too many at once, and learned how painful a glass shard can be when it embeds itself into your big toe through your sock. Oh, that was after the rather large frame smashed my toe first.
I think I need to pick up a pair of steel toed boots before I do any more lifting of breakables.
Or better yet, leave this to the professionals.
I just really wanted to get the expensive, hard-to-pack items over early so that I didn’t have to worry about them on moving day.
Oh well, if all I have broken is one picture frame during the move, I’ve done well. I hope I’m not jinxing myself!
On another note… I have stuff I’m not taking with me! …Some free! (all needs to be picked up by next Monday)
2x boxes of CDs — FREE! (one per person, no picking and choosing… It’s all great music!) …Gone!
1x box of electronics and peripheral wires etc. — FREE (GRAB BAG-style) Hint: there’s a DVD player in this group of stuff.
1x Motorola Shaw/Novus DCT digital cable tuner & remote — First $30 takes it. (2 people expressed interest so far)
1x Glass-top kitchen table & 4 chairs (4′x4′), perfect condition (Kimli has first dibs) — First $100 takes it.
1x 19″ flat-screen monitor, Samsung I think… Can be mounted on the wall, works awesome — First $75 takes it. …Gone!
1x iPod Touch 16 gig, jailbreak to 1.1.3, nearly new, no scratches! — First $300 takes it!!
1x almost new med. red fabric
shower curtain with unused liner, too! — First $20 takes it! (paid $45 3 months ago)
1x HP Ipaq h5500 (w/box), with portable folding keyboard, and flash card extender — First $50 takes it! (brand new battery in it!)
1x Ikea Beech 5 drawer dresser, great condition — First $75 takes it! (about 4.5′ tall x 1.5′ wide)

It’s about 1.5 years old… but barely used because I got my 30″ about a year ago now.

I was just thinking in the last week how I needed a LCD monitor to replace the massive CRTs in my apartment that take up more space than I do.

ouch. that sounds extremely unpleasant. (the toe part). But I am glad to know someone else who has made a blog entry out of a toe injury.
