Only in the US… Friday Silliness!

Deadgirl buy Raiders of the Lost Ark

Plunkett & Macleane film

Uh.

(Sorry Americans, but seriously… WTF was that?)

What are you looking forward to, this weekend? For Sale by Owner

Me? Tonight is the 5th Anniversary Celebration for the company I work for — There’s about 50 people coming, and it should be a good time! Tomorrow afternoon, I’m cleaning. Yep. Me. I decided I didn’t want to pay someone $200 to clean the old place, so I’m going to do it myself. Yuck. It’s gotta be done. Tomorrow night, I’m finally heading out to Campoverde for the first time in months to enjoy one of their supperclub evenings, before which I’m meeting Al to catch up for the first time in a long time.

Sunday will be nice — I’m doing a bunch of running around during the day, and then Corinna

Small Soldiers film

and I are heading out for a nice dinner so that I can thank her for her hours and hours of help during move-day.

Have a great one, everyone!

haha… Nice clip there T. But seriously, I am pretty sure there is at least one stupid person in Canada too!! The US just has more due to our population difference between our two countries I think. But there are some really dumb people that walk our planet. Thanks for the laugh!!

  • haha… Okay, okay. You have a point. :) That was a bit below the belt. Seriously, though, I’ve never seen that kinda lunacy here in Canada. I have seen a fair amount of it in the States while living in LA, though. Holy smokes.

Hope you have a great weekend, Rick! Long time no chat. I totally owe you an email!!

My bf is technically American… I LUV ribbing him!

This weekend? Took a day off to be with my family. It’s been 2 months since I had a weekend day off. I’m thinking something outdoorsy and active, even if it’s just extensive window shop trolling in DT.

I’ll have to watch that clip later seeing how I don’t have speakers for this computer.

This weekend? Heading to the backcountry for some sweet powder action! :D

Good to hear the move went well and that you are finally getting settled. Looking forward to seeing you on April 12th. It’s been too long. Something tells me that half the blogging community will be at your house warming. It will be good to meet some of the people whose blogs I have stumbled across from your website. I’m having a quiet weekend except for a concert at the River Rock on Sunday. Have a good one T!

  • Hi Agasel… It’s a fun thing to do ;) I rib all my American friends. It’s a good hobby.

Tawcan, definitely listen to the clip. Seriously. It’s quite unbelievable. Have a fantastic time on your adventure… sounds like a total blast!!

Charlene: Thanks! Great to see you by… Thanks for dropping in and leaving a comment. I am really looking forward to seeing you, it’s been far too long, indeed. Have a great concert on Sunday!!

Hi Tanya, Long time…. Anyway, about your YouTube Clip? I trained as a 911 dispatch/emergency call operator two years ago, and yes…, yes this very thing happens often up here. I was told that Vancouver logs onto about 1500 calls per year of people complaining about everything from birds chirping to loudly at night, to a red light lasting too long going to YVR because the poor fellow is going to miss his flight.

Although I have never taken any calls like that, you should hear the frustration from some of the front line worker who do.

The best one I heard, and I wish I had the recording of it, was a man freaking out because a VP police car was double-parked on Oak St., by the bridge. He really wanted someone to go out there and give the officer a parking ticket. Funny, the flashing lights from the police car didn’t give the caller any idea or clue?

  • that was so funny! thanks for providing a smile at the end of a long day.

Oh Tanya. I’ve lived in 3 countries now, including yours, as you know, and I can attest to the fact that there are idiots and assholes everywhere. The US has hardly cornered the market on that one. Just because we find it amusing to document and mock ours doesn’t mean we actually appreciate them or that they represent the general population.

Please don’t say anything else like that or I will have to call 911 and have you arrested.

And then I will sue you.

    And maybe invade your country.
