A.- I don’t know what I would do WITHOUT Flickr! I *love* it. The only problem is that, unlike PicasaWeb, it doesn’t allow you to just share certain photos with certain people. But if it did that, I’d be SO thrilled!

Q.- Staying in line with the theme of the game – What would annoy you more? Having your photos not credited and used or having them credited but not linked back to your Flickr or blog?

I’d be a lot more annoyed at simply not having my photos credited. Someone could always google my many photo albums scattered about the ‘net, if the accreditation is there.

And to Tanya’s question: I do have a Flikr account… also Photobucket, Tinypic, Deviant Art, and probably a couple others I can’t even remember. These days I mostly use PicasaWeb and Facebook (both easily integrated with Picasa, which I use for most of my photo organizing and quick edits), and host some off my own home webserver, mostly for forum-embedded photos and the like.

So I’ll pose a related question: how big is YOUR photo collection, and what do you use to keep it all organized?

  • PS: Raul… Great question, and I too would give one warning, and then sue for copyright infringement. In this day and age, people know better. If they don’t, they should.

A: Err, you wouldn’t know it looking at my Flickr (and subsequently my photo albums duplicated here) but I actually take a LOT of photos. I use Lightroom (thanks to Reilly & Miranda for their passion and tips for this software) which allows me to tag, set, and batch edit color corrections with ease. Love that program!

Q: It seems we have a theme here… So, I’ll carry it on: What kind of camera(s) do you own?

  • Tawcan says:

A: I have a Canon A70 but that’s in retirement after getting the Canon XSi over 3 months ago. My name is Tawcan and I’m a photography addicts.

Q: If you have a DSLR, what’s the craziest/most expensive lens you’ve used? If you don’t have a DSLR, do you wish you have one?

A: the craziest/most expensive lens that I tend to use daily is my Canon 70-200 IS lens. It has been referred to as my God Lens by many.

Q: for all you that take tonnes of photos, how many get anything printed, like at London drugs/home printer/ prolab etc.. and what do you do with them if you do?

A: Ever since I went digital, my photos reside on my hard drive and Flickr. In fact, I haven’t even gotten around to setting up the electronic picture frame I got for Christmas last year. In my world, there doesn’t seem to be a need to print most photos out.

Q: What’s your favorite photo you’ve taken this year?

A: That’s an easy one for me!: back in April, while on vacation in Vancouver I took a photo facing out the back of the Seabus looking towards downtown – from Gastown to Stanley Park. I adore that photo!

Q: Do you feel that shutter-bugging (aka taking photos) removes you from the experience you are trying to capture? Alot of my friends claim they aren’t into photography for that reason…

  • Wow, you guys have awesome questions!

A: No, actually (although my friends say the same thing) I find myself looking around more, and experiencing more when I’m behind the lens.

Q: Do you take video of your adventures, or only still photography?

  • Raul says:

A.- I do both (as you could see, Tanya, I take my Flip camera AND my digital camera everywhere!)

Q.- Do you think of privacy issues when you upload a video or a photo? For example, do you ask around “hey can I take a photo/video of you”?

Raul’s last blog post: I’m not the hummingbird I once was…

  • Tawcan says:

A: No typically not. I only ask if the pics are considered *inappropriate* (My friends and I seem to take lots of these at the mountain summits).

Q: How often do you print out your pics?
