It's the MID-WEEK Socializing Game!
Hey guys! It’s that time of the week, again… Time to socialize on the fly! (And, I’ll have one of those shots in the photo, please!)
Here’s how it works: I’ll start with a question, and the first person answers my question, and then asks a different question for the next person in the same comment.
I’ll start!
Are you taking a vacation to some far-away destination this year? The Hunchback of Notre Dame full movie

I’m playing!!
It’s not a ‘vacation’ but I am moving to New Zealand in a month…so I think it kinda counts
If you could only go one place in the world, where would it be?
A.- Normally, I would take a holiday in Paris at least once a year (that had been the case for the past few years). Considering my current $$$ state, I don’t think that’s going to happen! However, I might go to Mexico for a short holiday. Failing that, I’m going to Bowen Island!
Q.- What is your favorite holiday destination?
Raul’s last blog post: Vancouver Bloggers Meetup for July 2008 – What a success!
Depends on your definitions of “far-away” and “year.” We already went to Morocco and Spain this year, which was awesome. No other grand ventures planned for the rest of 2008 (except a drive up to visit the hubby’s parents on northern Vancouver Island) – but I’ve got something Carribean in mind for early 2009!
Do you prefer cultural, adventurous or relaxation-focused vacations?
Jen’s last blog post: How I spent my birthday weekend
Welcome Dayna!
Okay, with the onset ppl were missed, so I’ll answer:
a1: Wow, that’s tough. I’d have to say a little town in the South of France. That place was magical! (Mouries)
a2: Hehe! See a1! (Nice is awesome, too)
a3: I’d have to say, preference would be cultural, although I love adventure, too. I’m not one for sitting on the beach, much. Shocking, huh?
q: Are you a beach person?
A: YES!! I love the sound of the water, I love swimming, I love going for a run by the sea. My thesis was written, in part, on no fewer than 5 different beaches, including beaches in Fort Lauderdale & Santa Barbara (and Vancouver, of course). My 30th birthday was spent surfing in Tofino (well, trying to surf) and I’m already planning a surfing trip (maybe Hawaii, maybe Australia) for my 40th (which is almost 8.5 years away still!).
Q: Do you surf?
Beth’s last blog post: Buh bye, sweet Scrabulous
A: Nope, but my friend Keira will be taking surf lesson in Tofino this weekend *jealous* – the closest I’ve been is face-planting while wake boarding
Q: Swimming in a lake or swimming in the ocean, which do you prefer?
Rebecca’s last blog post: Vancouver History: Lord Roberts School
A: Swiming in a lake. Salt and sand just don’t mix :S
Q: If you could take one person with you to a deserted island who would it be (other then your spouse)?
Gary Jones :: BlueFur.com’s last blog post: Business 101: City Cafe Bakery
A.- Oh my God, that’s a tough one. In order:
- Ryan Reynolds
- Paul Walker
- Ryan Philippe
- Tom Welling
- James Franco
Q.- Paris or London?
Raul’s last blog post: Restaurant review – Capone’s (Yaletown)
Welcome Gary!
OH, hell… this is an easy one. I’m NOT a fan of Paris, so definitely London. I might even live there one day. Other than friends and my career, there’s not much keeping me in Vancouver. And, I have this little red UK passport I should use more.
Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done on vacation?
A) Skinny Dipped in the Dominican Republic
Q) Have you ever gone skinny dipping?
Tyler Ingram’s last blog post: The Secret In Making Money Online Made Me Lots Of Money!
Ugh, I’ve done a few crazy things…between the things I’ll mention?
Tie between doing the Tongariro Crossing in NZ (summited a volcano) and flashing my bra to oncoming traffic off a bridge in Perth, Aus (completely sober).
What culture would you want to grow up in? Besides your own..
dayna’s last blog post: Writing while exhausted.
I’ll answer both, since Tyler was missed…
A1: Hell ya! And, naked tag in the park at midnight, too. Good times!
A2: Hmm. I really love the Canadian way of things, so um, let’s see — How about the Icelandic culture, since I was born into that culture by blood, but never got to experience it until recently.
Q: Do you ever go on “girls only” or “guys only” getaways? Do you enjoy them?
A: Guys only, yes. And, I do enjoy them as long as it’s only once in a while and not all the time.
Q: How do they get the soft, creamy caramel inside the Caramilk bar?
A: not such a mystery but we’ll all play along, kind of like how kids do with Santa Claus
Q: What do you look forward to most about summer?
ROTFL, Tasha
A: Dispensing with the umbrella! And the sunshine. And of course, all the awesome summer adventures…
Q: What was the last blog you read before this one?
A.- Would I sound self-absorbed if I answered that mine?
I normally read yours, Rebecca’s and my own Comments section just in case I’ve not approved them yet. Then I start moving through my RSS feeds.
Q.- Where would you go if you had all the money in the world (travel destination)?
Raul’s last blog post: I want to be a dad
All the money in the world. It’d still be hop-on hop-off Europe by train and bike, esp the southern and western parts.
Where’re the best cities to find chocolate?
Pearl’s last blog post: Peterborough Hospital
A. Switzerland, they even have passports made out of chocolate….
Q. Have you ever had a crush on a cartoon character? If so, which one was it?
(mine was Alan Chan, on the Chan Clan…he had rose tinted glasses and bellbottoms, he was grooooovyyyy….)
A: Not really, but if I were to, it would be Jessica Rabbit I’d wager.
Q: What was the last book you read?
Tris Hussey’s last blog post: Telus Mobility you need to work on your e-interfaces and communicate to customers better
Hey, welcome Tris!
A: “The God of Small Things” by Arundhati Roy… I’m still reading it! I got it from MJ at the fireworks last week. (thanks Urbanista!) It’s a really neat book, about the childhood experiences of a pair of fraternal twins who become victims of circumstance… (best way to sum it up, according to wikipedia)
Q: Do you run, or work out? If so, how often do you work out?
Work out. Usually every second day switching between cardio and sculpting.
If the 4th dimension is colour, what do you think would happen if a red person and a blue person walked into each other in a hallway? (Yeah, I know. Weird question
)
