Gnomedex '08, here I come!
I’m so darned lucky to live in the beautiful city of Vancouver — Not only are the surroundings here (especially in the summer when we’re given some respite from the rain) absolutely remarkable, but I also live amongst some of the most prolific and influential bloggers in North America. There’s so many here, in fact, that I won’t try to list them all… I’d be afraid of forgetting half of them.
And, not so far away in Seattle resides another group of amazing, cutting edge bloggers — Who (along with plenty of out-of-town participants) attend a conference based there, as well.
That conference is Gnomedex Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon psp
… And this year, for the first time in the many years it’s been held, I’ll be making an appearance and meeting all those that I should have met years ago. I’m absolutely thrilled to have been invited to experience this event with an astounding amount of very cool bloggers. It’s only a week and a half away… August 21st through 23rd.

Hope you had a great time at the conference. I wish I could have been there…I need to get out a little more. Somehow, being there adds a dimension to building networks of relationships that always being online and disconnected just can’t match.
Sorry to hear your tablet’s not working out. Which one did you get? HP’s 2710p is a serious piece of engineering, but the consumer-focused ones seem to be a bit of a letdown. I’m still pondering my options for the Next Big Machine…I guess I’ll have to wear out my existing one first, though!
Oh, wanted to let you know your latest post re. dating struck a chord with me. You wrote so eloquently about the pitfalls of connecting in the Internet Age. Humans are great at introducing new technologies, but not so great at adapting behaviours to avoid getting smacked in the face in the process. If anyone can figure it out, though, it’s you.
