It's over.
After close to 12 years, I can *finally* close a chapter of my life.
In early 1997, I was involved in a significant car accident. The injuries from that accident left me fairly disabled for over 3 years, but with a lot of hard work, and surgery, I regained all of my mobility.
The legal wrangling went on for years after. Six years ago, I settled my claim just before I was to start my court battle.
Except, my lawyers screwed up over and over again, and certainly didn’t disappoint when the settlement was finalized. Their oversight (one of many) resulted in half my settlement being withheld in trust, due to more pending litigation with an insurance company that paid me disability while I was off work. I had to wait six years in order to allow the statute of limitations to expire, before I could have access to the remaining settlement.
This morning, I was finally able to start putting the whole crazy mess behind me. I guess it’s better late than never, hey? It feels good to know that I no longer have to stress about that anymore.
At least, the stress will be gone, as soon as the darn courier actually brings the cheque that I was supposed to pick up this morning. My lawyer couldn’t even get that right today — I waited for 1.5 hours for him to come back from the bank, and finally had to leave — they promised to send the cheque by courier by 3pm.
Can you believe, after all this, the courier broke down on the way?

Yippie!
Awesome for you Tanya! But what a time you had to get to that point. Glad for you that its finally done and over with.
Also about the disabilities and the recovery…that’s great news. Not too many people that get into those situations and actually work that hard to get to that point. FYI…It wouldn’t have mattered to the people that care about you for who you are though. Just wanted to let you know that:D HUGZ

Wow, the universe is testing your patience indeed… but you finally got it, so you can all just let it fade into history.
Thanks guys! It’s such a major relief to have that over and done with. That accident literally changed everything in my life. All of it good, when looking back. It made me realize how important some things were, and how much of a waste of time other things were.
And, it’s over. OMG. Yay!
ps: The money has now been spent! I paid off my credit card, and bought Vern’s car. That was fast…
