TGIF!!!

This Friday couldn’t come soon enough for me, but not because I wanted to rush through the week… I have so much to do and I need all the time I can get at the moment.

But, I’m tired. And, I really need to sleep in.

I cannot believe tomorrow is my 20th high school grad reunion. Wow! I don’t feel that old. But, I guess I am. I’m looking forward to seeing a few people I haven’t seen since the last day of school back in 1988. But, I didn’t have super-strong ties with anyone there because I only attended Lord Tweedsmuir for the last two years of senior high.

You see, I attended 12 different schools, growing up. If that sounds like a large number, try acclimatizing that often, in already difficult years anyone faces growing up. I made the best of it, but man, my parents were really selfish making us move so often.

And then, my Dad asked me to move out of the family home within a week of graduating from high school, so I didn’t stay in Cloverdale — I moved to Victoria where I had an aunt that I could room with until I got onto my feet, financially.

I actually considered not even going to the reunion, but LTSS was the only school that I was attended for more than a year, so I did find it easier to make friends there… And I generally liked almost everyone in my Grad class. Besides, what’s an evening out of my life? I know I’d regret it if I didn’t go.

And, by this time next week, I’ll be “LEAVING ON A JET PLANE! (although, I know when I’ll be home again)” I can’t wait for this trip! As it’s a singles group cruise, a bunch of us have been actively chatting in the newsgroup set up for the 300 or so of us that are cruising together. Most of them have been on cruises together in the past… And they all sound like a ton of fun! Still no sign of my roommate in the conversation, though. I guess it’ll be a surprise when I get there next week!

What are you looking forward to, this weekend?

Have a great one, whatever you get up to!!

Sounds like fun! Reunions are crazy – I didn’t enjoy mine this summer at all. I hope you have a better experience!

I’m having a few friends over this evening for some 80s movies and junk food – it should be fun :)

  • Have a great time at your reunion, Tanya! That’s so exciting. Oddly, last night I dreamed that I was at my high school reunion. I was afraid of how much older I would look, but then I saw a picture and realized I looked much hotter than in my high school days (I usually have dreams about failure, so this unusually conceited fantasy was a welcome treat!)

Look forward to seeing you before your big trip! (Which also sounds like a blast!)

This weekend I’m attending Paul’s company’s launch (thanks to meeting him through you). Which will be fun! And not sure what else we’re doing. (Maybe farmers market, if I can convince the boy :)

Awesome to hear that you’re going to the singles cruise and that you’re going to the reunion! Me? I really don’t have much to look forward this weekend. I’m like triple/quadruple booked with several invitations to hang out with friends but I’m still feeling sick (I went to Ideas on Tap – wrong idea – too hot temperature wise, too crowded, too noisy – ended up getting sicker again)

So I think I’m just going to sleep :) if I can!

    Much love,
    R.

    Have fun at the reunion!!

Over the past two nights, I got talked into driving to Ohio to attend a skating show with some friends, so I’m really excited for that. I have to get through one more shift at work, though.

As for the singles cruise, well yeah! I’m sooo looking forward to it to and to meeting a fellow Vancouverite on the ship. How cool is that!

Have fun with your reunion. (I had forgotten that you had gone to the same high school as my mum.)

Oh, and have fun on your cruise, but mind the “cruise nerds” (hehehehe)!

Have a FANTASTIC time at the reunion, Tanya! I’ve only been to one HS reunion and MAN, I could not believe how much some people had changed in “only” 10 yrs. Perhaps the planning committee was similarly horrified because they haven’t gotten together to do another one…*heh*

I think it’s great that they set up a newsgroup for all of you – what a fun way to break the ice prior to meeting in person! Too bad your roomie hasn’t emerged yet, though. You’re going to meet lots of new friends and have a blast!

Me, this weekend, if I wish to keep moving freely about the apartment I *must* get this laundry done (part-way there!) and there is some wardrobe weeding-out still ahead. Thankfully, I have a break tonight when I meet some friends at a fun Italian place for dinner.

    Cheers all!

Michele didn’t send me, Tanya, I just found you there. I hope you’ll have a good time at your reunion. I just went to my 50th (yes, that’s right) and we had a blast.
