Speechless.
I’m stunned.
I re-wrote my dating profile after last night’s horror show (otherwise known as the ‘parade of crazy’ that had filled my dating inbox) hoping to weed out some of the undesirable, while attracting the attention of more normal men in the process.
Apparently, my re-write did just the opposite.
Remember this guy? Ya, that was one of my favourites, too.
He emailed me again, today:
Its your old fella [place freak's name here]
We dated a long time ago, and met again to get acquainted-remember? How are you? I’m still doing IT stuff and running my manufacturing company – and still in [city removed].
Did you finally get that stuff done re ICBC?

Yep, the internet can be a scary place. I was briefly on a dating website and just as quickly got the heck off there, for the creepy men that were responding.
I then decided to take a sabbatical from my usual circle of friends (no new dating opportunities there, or with their friends), with of course letting them know why I was taking a break. And I decided to go out, take courses, join clubs, get into sports (slo pitch though I am really bad at baseball – there is always after game beers!) and met the love of my life that way.

My heart goes out to you to have to endure stuff like this. Sounds very similar to situations my Aunt has been in. She’s received similar emails.

Wow. I’ve been casually trying the online dating thing lately, and this sorta gives me hope; if I ever feel like it’s not working out or I’m not getting many responses to my profile, I can at least take comfort that I’m not in situations like THAT, and at least I’m not THAT guy.
