Weirdest sight?
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen recently?
Me? I’ve gotta set it up first…
It’s Vancouver. It’s a rainy Thursday afternoon, and I’m walking back to my office, passing an abandoned building that used to be “Molly’s Restaurant” on my way. The building has long been boarded up, and there’s a bit of a tent city that has started up in the driveway. Okay, maybe not a tent city, but certainly a tent. And tarps. And homeless paraphernalia (a bike with one wheel, a shopping cart, etc.)
And… A lawn chair.
But, this isn’t any lawn chair. There’s a half nude (he was wearing shorts, and flip flops, but that’s it) homeless guy in the lawn chair, and he’s flipping through a soggy newspaper. …He looks like he’s sunbathing.
Might I remind you, it’s pouring rain? This is one of those times I wish I was packing a camera in my purse.
Your turn…

And you didn’t get a picture?!!
That’s awesome. A pic would have been awesome. I thought you have an iPhone?

I do… but sadly, my battery was at zero charge and I couldn’t get it to boot up long enough to take a photo (I quite often forget to charge my phone, which is silly…)

While not NEARLY as wierd or funny, I have a recent funny one. Tuesday night, I was really quite smashed and wandering the casino with a friend of mine from LA. We run into another guy from the conference and he is with a gorgeous young woman. Lots of people bring their S.O.’s or friends to these conferences, the hotel is paid for and is 4 star at least. I think nothing of it.
Later, I pull $110 out of a slot machine and am heading to cash in my voucher when I run into him again, sans babe. I ask, “where is that pretty young woman you were with?” or something to that effect.
“She wanted $300.”
…dramatic pause… ROTFL!!!! Burn.
The owls that stare into my room from the trees outside.

Hmmm…I see a lot of strange things out at the university…..
…Looked out the window of the FNS building during a class and saw a guy walk by wearing a bathrobe and carrying a golf club over his shoulder…
…Looked out the window of the bus while going past the campus RCMP station and saw a man in a ski mask running around the building real suspicious-like (found out years later that they sometimes do training exercises with the RCMP, so at least there was an explanation..)…
…Came out one late night at work expecting the safewalk team to pick me up at the King George Statue, only I guess they got bored waiting for me and I caught them dressing up King George in one of their jackets, hat, and clipboard under the statues arm… (hehehe funny… the students are a riot..)…
Yeah, I’ve seen it all…but yours sounds pretty spectacular, shame you didn’t get a picture!
OMG… Okay C.B… That freaks me out.
P? Uh… Okay, you win! (unless someone comes in after you, of course) Awesome stories
I’ll never forget the time I saw a guy skateboarding down the street with a pan on his head. Lately I guess it’s been seeing the beach full of snow. Some snow looks like sand and some sand looks like snow. The icecream truck was a plow.

Colleen: pan on his head? as in a baking pan? wearing it as a hat? I’m trying to visualize…
That is quit a picture you paint I can only say I’d a run as he sounded like he wasn’t all quite there.
