Domesticated.
I’m. Almost. Better. Three weeks in, this damn cough is sure getting annoying though.
Barry has been here for 3.5 days, and holy, have we gotten a ton accomplished in that short time frame! As always, he’s been an incredible help — I’m a typical useless girl when it comes to home wiring, upgrades, and even reaching to replace a fixture in my hallway. Luckily, not only is Barry tall, but he’s also great with wires!
So, gone is the crappy electrical fixtures and Jetson’s lighting! Woohoo!
We’re even going to be painting a feature wall in my bedroom a dark red… right behind the bed. Mmmm… Red. My favourite colour. Not like you could tell: Practically every accent in my home (not painted) is red. Okay, so I’m going with what I know I like.
Barry and I have been having a great time together as well! Busy, busy, busy, though! I really wanted Barry to experience my life as it normally is — Might as well give him a taste of what the actual pace of my life is, than some slowed-down version for his temporary benefit. He seems to be enjoying it, so far!
Tonight, I’m really looking forward to heading out to dinner with Monica, Chris, Miranda and Reilly. Barry really likes these guys, too, so I’m sure it’ll be a fantastic evening.
That is… If Barry doesn’t electrocute himself before I get home — He had a power “issue” this afternoon, and blew out the local panel while updating some more fixtures around the place. Ooops. He’s still texting me, so he must be okay.
What are your plans for Canada Day, or Independence Day? I’ve got fun plans, which I’ll blog more about by Thursday…

Day off? So many possiblities. I’ll probably be working on my apartment too… Hey, can Barry be rented out? hehehe I need help hanging pictures…will pay with food…ah good try… hehehe
Well the plan was to head to Parliament Hill (Sarah McLachlan is headlining) but the day is going to be a total washout. It’s been a very rainy spring/summer in the east and I fear all those folks huddled on the Hill may ring in the big day by sinking into the mud! Hmmm, do you think it will suck up the Parl Buildings?
Have a great Canada Day / Independence Day, everyone!
Are you planning to change the part about being a 30-something single to something else? Just wondering.
Tell Barry to be careful with the wires. I got a nasty shock last week while trying to replace a hot water heater.

Good luck with the house (and Barry), Tan. I’ve been thinking of putting up a new light in the dining room. Maybe I’ll finally get around to that this weekend. I bought the fixture nearly 6 months ago!

4th July is nothing special here in the UK (as far as I know) but I’m off to see my favourite band at Wembley Stadium.
Good luck with the house, it certainly sounds like Barry has been a real help… I hope he’s still in one peice!
