I’m living in an IKEA warehouse
Okay, I’m officially crazy.
Last weekend, Barry was in town, and not only did we put together the 16 feet of IKEA cabinets for the living room (floor to ceiling), but we also made it back to IKEA to order some bedroom stuff during their “bedroom event”.
Which, of course, we had delivered on Sunday… While we were crawling over the other enormous boxes of “stuff” needed for finishing the kitchen and living room.
Oh, and did I mention, we bought two more cabinets for the living room area while we were there?
I think this may be a case of our eyes are bigger than our condo.
Of course, we’ve thought this through, and when it’s done, it’s going to look spectacular, and definitely add a ton of value to the suite, but, living in the hellish mess for months (yep, months) at a time is really getting on my nerves.
I’ll add photos in a future blog post when I can actually get over some of the boxes to my computer (I’m only half kidding).
And, finally… do you think I could get a counter top company to call me back? Seriously, WTF? We want to spend $3000 with a company for a small job (and actually finish the kitchen so I can actually use the dishwasher and have a kitchen sink again) — We had to wait until the cabinets were installed. They have been for 2 weeks now. So, why can’t I get a company to get back to me to set up an appointment to template the kitchen? ARGH. I’m tired of eating out all the time.
I can’t wait to have these renos done… Just in time for Barry to move in.
Oh, did I mention? He got the job he wanted! And, he’s moving in at the end of the month! YAY!

ps: Hope to see you at tonight’s THIRD TUESDAY VANCOUVER (yes, on a Thursday) to see Shel Israel, who’s flying in to launch his new book “Twitterville” at the event that Monica and I are organizing. Good times!

Yeah living with renovations can be hellish! If you need to escape for a bit, stop by our place. Sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery to make you feel better. Boy do I know that!
Can’t wait to see the results of all your hard work!
Thanks BFF
Hey… I’ve managed to get most of the misc stuff piled in corners, and the bedroom, so it’s almost livable (as long as you don’t trip on the cable that stretches from the far wall to where my tv is along the other wall temporarily!
I’d love to have you guys over soon! Maybe sometime this weekend? You can see where we are, so far!
This place is going to look amazing when we’re done. I’m sorry that my sweetie has to live with the construction, but it will all be worth it.
