That’s enough.
I’ve had it.
No, really, I mean it this time.
I’ve now been sick for 5.5 months, except for about a 2 week stint of relative healthiness. That stinks.
And, of course, because my immune system has been so busy dealing with the consistent and obnoxious bronchial infection and associated cough, it had nothing left in the tank to fight off the flu which hit me by storm a couple of weekends ago.
Just in time to go away for work for five days to San Diego. That was hell. I’ve never before had to talk myself down from puking on an aircraft before. I’ve always made fun of the air sickness bags… Well, I just about grabbed one last Wednesday (well after the 7 days of flu, where I kept myself away from everyone else, I assure you).
So, I’m headed to a pulmonary specialist. Because. I’ve. Had. Enough.
You win, stupid bronchial infection… I can’t take anymore of this.
I promise… I’m done my whining now

Virtual HUG!
I’m sorry you’ve been so ill for so long, Tanya. I think getting some medical advice is a pretty good idea at this point. Get well soon, and keep your sense of humour.

Wow…that’s horrible. I know Stacie’s been fighting a cough for a few months too but has escaped the flu so far…travelling while sick is the worst.
[HUG]
That is horrible, I hate travelling sick. *hug*
I feel your pain. I’ve had a similar experience this year. It all started at the beginning of July with shingles, which I thought was an old person thing, I guess not. After that it was one thing after the other due to a compromised immune system. Just these past few weeks I’ve started feeling better, but am scared to shake anyone’s hand any more.
Hope you feel better soon.

I made fun of those bags as well until I was preggers… morning sickness/sick and traveling does not mix.
Hope you feel better soon.

I can’t begin to imagine what being sick for that long is like, and here I’m complaining on twitter about being sick for the past few days. I’ll suck it up now.
And here’s to you getting better PDQ!

T – do you get any short-term disability? It sounds like you need some serious *time off* to let your body mend and recover. (((hug)))

That’s terrible! Yes, a doctor’s visit is in order.
(I can relate too, a little bit at least – I have been feeling sick ever since I went to Belgium and ruined my yearly vacation. It’s always either a cough, the scratchiest sore throat ever, headaches or muscle aches. At least I don’t have the mystery Norwalk combo I had in Belgium.)
as another person whom the bad health gremlins have visited this year i feel for you. glad you are feeling better

You’d better be alright by Thursday night! I’d feel bad about taking money from a sick girl.
Thanks guys… I’m sure I’ll be much better in no time. That’s what I’m telling myself!
Can’t wait to get answers from the pulmonary specialist, though!
@Nancy, nope, I have no disability at all.
@Rog – Oh, don’t you worry… I’ll give you a run for my money

I’m sorry you’ve been feeling so bad—and for such a long period of time. I sure hope you start feeling better soon.

Hey, I wish we could’ve talked more the other night. I was glad to see you out and about despite the ridiculous weather. It’s good you can power through stuff, but remember to indulge yourself and lounge around in the tub if you need it. It definitely makes me feel better when I have months-long immunomucus (that’s a word, right?) problems.
