Wanna win some Cirque du Soleil OVO tickets?

Cirque du Soleil - Calgary OVO Promo Code WIN!

Hi guys! Guess what I have in my hot little hands? (okay… I’ll admit, they’re digital, but they’re sizzling!) Cirque Du Soleil tickets! …And I’m giving a pair away to one lucky winner!

I’m super stoked to be seeing this awesome show on opening weekend – Every single Cirque show I’ve seen (and I’ve seen many!) have all blown my mind. So. Much. Talent! I’m sure this Calgary performance will be just as amazing.

OVO is running in Calgary at the Stampede Grounds under the big tent from September 7th until October 9th, 2011, and tickets are going fast – but, even if you don’t win a pair of tickets (see below for details on how to win!) I’ve got a promo code for your Cirque Du Soleil tickets right here, giving you 40% off! Don’t miss out!

Here’s a bit about the show…

“OVO is a headlong rush into a colourful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement. The insects’ home is a world of biodiversity and beauty filled with noisy action and moments of quiet emotion. When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives. It’s love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye – and the feeling is mutual. OVO is overflowing with contrasts. The hidden, secret world at our feet is revealed as tender and torrid, noisy and quiet, peaceful and chaotic. And as the sun rises on a bright new day the vibrant cycle of insect life begins anew.”

SO… HOW DO YOU WIN TICKETS to the 8pm Calgary show of OVO on Saturday, September 10, 2011?!

This is the easiest random draw ever…

Just comment on this post from now, until opening day.. September 7th at 5pm MT – Tell me about your last Cirque experience (if none, that’s okay, too!) and you’ll be entered. And, if you spread the word, and one or more (no limit!) of your friends enters also (and shares that you sent them in their comment) you will both get an extra entry! If I can’t reach you by Noon MT on September 8th, I’ll draw another name.

Thanks for entering! The contest is over!

Barry was taking too long getting home, so I went next door and asked my neighbour to draw… Drum roll please… Al picked…

…HEATHER! You win!

:D

UPDATE!!!!

Heather can’t go this Saturday, so rather than giving the tickets away, she asked me to draw another name… so… DRUM ROLL AGAIN!

SARAH, you won!

Hi! The last Cirque show I saw was in Vegas, Zumanity. It was pretty .. interesting. Somewhat of a let down though, to be honest. Prior to that, we saw KA .. which was absolutely amazing. Perhaps its hard to compare the two. Anyway, consider this my entry. Thanks!

  • Wow! Very cool contest, Tanya! Thanks for sharing!

I may be the only person I know that hasn’t actually been to a Cirque du Soleil event!

  • Killa says:

I’ve never been to a Cirque.show before but I REALLY want to go!

  • amanda baldwin says:

The last cirque du soleil performance I went to was Allegria in Calgary…I think 2008? It was amazing!!! I went with my mom and we had a blast! Great acts and costumes!

  • Stephanie Warthe says:

My first and only Cirque experience was in Vegas for the Ka show… best show I’ve ever seen in my life! I’m dying to go again!

  • rudy kehler says:

Hmm – never been. Would enjoy it thoroughly I’m sure!
    Thank you for the opportunity.

  • Vicki Love says:

I’ve seen so many Cirque shows. I just LOVE the combination of dance, music, gymnastics, drama, costuming, etc. It’s so stimulating for every one of the senses…other than smell. Probably that’s a good thing.

Since becoming a single mom I’ve only managed to get out once but if you can, I recommend you make a point of experiencing it once in your life, whether you win or buy the tickets. The cost is well worth it, if it’s within your budget!

Hi! I’ve never been to a Cirque show in Calgary, but I did see KA in Vegas a couple years ago. It was AMAZING. I’d love to see how it compares to a show in cowtown!

  • Cassie Neil says:

Never been the a show but would absolutely love to.

  • DIane says:

I have seen two Cirque shows in Las Vegas and they were so good. The first one I saw was Believe with Criss Angel. I found it so mesmerizing and felt like I was on acid or something just watching it(for the record I was not on any hallucinogenics and was actually pregnant). It was like fear & Loathing in Las Vegas meets Alice in Wonderland! I loved it! The hubby like it too!

The second one I saw was Ka back in December and it was fantastic! I would see it again, but I want to see some of the other ones next time I go to Las Vegas.

I have never seen a Cirque show here at home and would love the opportunity to go!

Nevwr been to a cirque show before but I knew as soon as I saw the first commercial for this one that I had to see it. Here’s hoping I can get a date night with the wifey and away from the kids!! :)

  • Shaun F says:

I saw Cirque in Las Vegas with Diane. It was an amazing show. I usually get bored after a half hour if the show is the same thing, but with Criss Angel “Believe” Show, it kept me on edge the entire show.

I would love to see a Cirque show here at home!

    Cheers
    Shaun

When I was in Vegas last year for my birthday, this guy had extra tickets and he gave them to us. The saddest part is that because we were not expecting to do anything that night, we had drunk a lot that afternoon while playing at the casino. So when we got the tickets and went to the show, the whole experience was very fuzzy but colorful and exciting at the same time – if that makes sense. That was my first time seeing cirque du soleil.. I really will want to make the next visit a much more memorable one :)

My last Cirque experience was the Elvis show in Vegas. Not exactly the typical Cirque… while it was entertaining, I left feeling a bit disappointed. Maybe OVO will restore that faith ;)

  • Toni says:

    Enter me!

  • Sarah says:

I’ve only ever seen 1 Cirque show & that was Mistaire (sp) in Vegas 5 yrs ago. I loved it. Would love to see OVO here in Calgary especially since it’s my birthday on Sunday (no word of a lie). But if I’m not the lucky winner I hope whoever wins enjoys it as well as yourself :)
