I’m a stressing…

Wow, the WME (Wealth Management Essentials) exam 1 was far more challenging than I anticipated!

I walked in to the classroom at SAIT Polytechnic feeling prepared, and fairly confident. I was averaging 90% on my practice tests – both through See Why Learning and CSI’s online tests – so I felt that was a pretty good indication that I knew the majority of the material.

Clearly, skipping the Quebec terminology (I would never use it, and my brain just didn’t want to absorb any more minutia, so I chose to focus on the material that I would find useful for my clients) was a mistake. I’d say 7 – 10 questions of 120 were based on regulations and terms that were Quebec-specific. To say I was frustrated is an understatement.

I don’t know when the exam results for the first exam will be posted… My experience in the past with CSI has been any where from 2 days to 9 days. I REALLY need to have these results today or tomorrow. There’s no point in my taking the second exam if I bombed the first one. Did I mention, also, that I am scheduled to write exam 2 on Monday?

The next exam is all the same concepts, but in different form. Instead of each question just being multiple choice, it’s case study-based, so there are multiple questions for each “client”. I really hope that one goes better than this did.

I’ll keep you posted on how I did!
