…are completely incompetent! I settled a car accident claim with those lovely people at ICBC just over a month ago (on the day that the trial was to begin). My lawyers involved in the case have been talking out of the side of their mouths since the very beginning of this case, almost six years ago. Now, over a month after their “help” with settling, I’m still dealing with a subrogated claim by another insurance company that should have never been an issue at all. I don’t understand how lawyers can get away with promising one thing and delivering another, over and over and over again. Now I’m faced with hiring another civil lawyer, and potentially dealing with another lawsuit to finally see closure to this very painful ordeal. Justice seems to be hiding at the moment. Where’s my axe?
Okay, so in an effort to overcome this latest setback, I’ve decided to just look ahead at the many, many positive things that are happening in my life. There are so many reasons to be happy right now, that this stupid legal situation shouldn’t sour my mood — and I’m determined to make sure that this is the case.
For example: I’m so happy that I’m finally moving in with my boyfriend after 16 months of dating. In an effort to spend time with him, I’ve been living out of my knapsack for these many months, and it’s so darn inconvenient, not to mention back-breaking when I have to drag my laptop and accessories with me as well. This is a *very* postive and exciting change for me — us, actually. Hopefully soon, he’ll be as excited about me being here to come home to, and wake up to, as I am. When he’s a happy boy, life feels that much more perfect.
Last night was a blast! A friend of ours normally has us over to yack, relax, and watch Osbornes on Tuesday nights, but I decided to have them over at my boyfriend’s place (soon to be my home too!) for a change of pace last night. It turned out to be so much fun! (not that it isn’t at my friend’s place…) I burnt chicken on the BBQ, we all had some homemade Shiraz, and pigged out on cupcakes that my friend brought with her. There was five of us, and although my friend’s sister couldn’t show up due to work, it was an almost perfect evening.

Phew! That was a busy long weekend for me! I ended up easing my workload by going into the office on Saturday, only to cut the day short so that I could go out and buy a snazzy new outfit to wear on Saturday night. Thankfully my shopping trip was a short one (I don’t like shopping unless I’ve found a whole bunch of really great deals in one place) and I was able to find exactly what I was looking for during Sear’s “One Day Sale” at Pac Centre. I was pleased that I didn’t have to resort to combing the mall for “perfect club threads”.
It was a fun night, once my friends called us at 10pm at the office… they had been in Langley having dinner with the family — but we knew that it would be a late start to the evening. After cabbing to “The Waldorf” (I wasn’t aware that this was a multi-roomed club once a month?) we found it easy to get in, and quickly weaved our way into the centre of the action.
We closed the place down, cabbed it back to my friends’ condo and crashed for a few hours on their futon. I can’t believe we didn’t get up on Sunday til 12:30! Guess I needed the rest.
The rest of the weekend involved mostly domesticated stuff… shopping, cleaning the house, and renting some movies last night. All in all, a relaxing weekend.

It’s almost embarrassing — inviting people to read this site, in it’s current state! Trust me, this “skin” is very temporary. I just don’t have any more time this week to put to making this blog feel like it’s mine. All my creative juices are required to finish up two pending projects — both of which are due next week.
I have so much going on right now that my head is almost ready to pop off! I’ll take some time this weekend to elaborate…
Have an awesome, sillyness-filled, crazy Friday night everyone! I’ll try to do the same. Does dinner and a movie count? LOL. Hopefully tomorrow night will see more excitement — after working all day! I wish my party-going circle of friends would get back to me with some ideas for Saturday night. I REALLY need to let off some steam. You have no idea.

I know that’s a tad cliche, but it’s true!
Yesterday evening, I spent a few hours with a long-time friend, catching up with each other’s lives and enjoying each other’s company. I realized that my close friends represent everything I love about life — my passions, my passtimes, and my communication. It was a breath of fresh air… sharing an ice cream cone with her and laughing about old times really felt great.
This morning, after getting off the phone with another good friend, I realized just how lucky I was to have such wonderful people surrounding me. I have some really amazing friends.
As I sit here working on my own, I often reflect on the influence my circle of friends has on me. Even though I love my job, working alone all day long is really tedious. For this reason, when I get the chance occasionally to work in a team environment, or share business ideas with others willing to listen, I find that I really appreciate those moments.
I realize that I have much to be thankful for.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life!
I really just wanted to test the operation of this new blogging system. I decided to wimp out, and install B2 Weblog on my brand new web presence, rather than go to the effort to re-invent the wheel so to speak. I have far too much paying work to manually code all this — regardless of the fact that it could be a learning experience to do so.
I’m excited about a place to be able to speak my mind, as well as offer up a piece of my life for those of you willing to review my ramblings and perhaps even comment on them.
In all likelyhood, I’ll be able to keep this web-based journalling up to date… stay tuned! This place should become interesting reading.
Cheers everyone!

DAMMIT. Something is wrong with my blog. Nothing I did, I can assure you — For some reason early, early this morning, my blog started displaying entries in historical order, rather than the newest entry first.
And, I didn’t change a thing.
I’ve been waiting ALL DAY for my hosting company to give me some answers, but so far, they’re saying: “It wasn’t me.” GRRR. It absolutely wasn’t me, so, who’s fibbing here? If anyone has *any clue* why this functionality has suddenly stopped working, I’d love to know!!
Anyhow — For the most recent entries, CLICK HERE and scroll to the bottom of the page. Sorry for the hassle, everyone. I hope to have this rectified very quickly.
